    摘要: A petroleum pipeline safety system for preventing contamination of an environmentally sensitive area close to a pipeline is provided. The system includes a first portion of the pipeline including an upstream portion of the pipeline supplying a flow of fluid material and a flow restriction downstream of the first portion of the pipeline. The system further includes a second portion of the pipeline downstream of the flow restriction, receiving the flow of fluid material from the first portion and conveying the flow of fluid material through the environmentally sensitive area to a downstream portion of the pipeline. The flow restriction is configured to create a lower pipeline internal pressure within the second portion as compared to a pipeline internal pressure within the first portion. The system further includes a third portion of the pipeline downstream of the environmentally sensitive area and including the downstream portion of the pipeline.

    摘要: A pressure regulating valve assembly includes: a valve having an upstream side receiving an input flow and a downstream side providing an output flow, an actuator for opening and closing the valve, including partially opening the valve, and a regulator controlling the actuator to open, close or partially open the valve. The regulator includes a sense pressure port, wherein pressure at the port is maintained constant by the regulator. A chamber has a first entry orifice, a second entry orifice and an exit orifice. The first entry orifice is connected to the upstream side, the second entry orifice is connected to the downstream side, and the exit orifice is connected to the port. The exit orifice provides that the pressure at the exit orifice lies between the pressure at the first entry orifice and the pressure at the second entry orifice.

    摘要: A one-way valve to control the release of pressurized gas from within a sealed container through a venting aperture. The valve comprises a layer of flexible material having an upper and a lower surface with a portion of the upper surface adhered to a surface of the container and overlaying the venting aperture. A channel is defined by a portion of the container and an adjacent portion of the flexible material which has not been adhered to the container. The channel is in communication with the venting aperture and an exhaust gas aperture in the layer of flexible material. The channel is operable between a closed and an open configuration upon gas pressure within the container exceeding a predetermined limit. When open the channel permits gas to flow from said container into the exterior atmosphere. When closed the channel restricts the flow of gas between the venting aperture and exhaust gas aperture.

    摘要: A transmission having a pressure controlled vent system, including a vent tube configured to engage a transmission such that a first opening of the vent tube is in fluid communication with an upper portion of a transmission cavity, a second end defining a second opening configured to be in fluid communication with an external atmosphere, and a bifurcated portion between the first end and the second end. The bifurcated portion includes a first tube segment and a second tube segment in parallel with the first tube segment. A pressure relief valve disposed in-line within the first tube segment and a vacuum relief valve disposed in-line within the second tube segment. The pressure relief valve cooperates with the vacuum relief valve to maintain a predetermined range of pressure differential between the first opening and the second opening.
