    Abstract: A pressure vessel includes a body defined by a cross-sectional shape along a plane transverse to a centerline. The cross-sectional shape includes an inner surface defining an interior void and a wall extending from the inner surface to an outer surface defining an exterior of the body. The inner surface includes an arcuate region and a gabled region. The gabled region forms a curved interior peak opposite a center of the arcuate region. The arcuate region and the gabled region together define a teardrop shape. The wall includes a curved segment along the arcuate region having a curved segment minimum thickness at a location opposite the interior peak, an apex aligned with the interior peak and having an apex thickness, and thickened regions adjacent intersections between gabled region and the arcuate region and having greater radial thickness than the curved segment minimum thickness.

    Abstract: An insulation structure of a membrane type storage tank is disclosed. The membrane type storage tank includes a secondary insulation wall comprising a plurality of secondary insulation panels; a primary insulation wall which comprises a plurality of primary insulation panels, and which is disposed at the upper part of the secondary insulation wall; and a plurality of fixing devices provided at the upper parts of the secondary insulation panels to be coupled with the primary insulation panels, wherein the plurality of fixing devices are arranged on the center line of the secondary insulation panels in a width direction so that the movement of the fixing devices in the width direction is prevented, and the plurality of fixing devices are arranged to be spaced at equal intervals with respect to the longitudinal direction of the secondary insulation panels.

    Abstract: A freezer system that uses liquid cryogen as a refrigerant for a freezer. The freezer includes an inner vessel defining a storage chamber and a vapor space, an outer shell that surrounds and is separated from the inner vessel to define an insulation space between the inner vessel and the outer shell, and an access opening extending between the outer shell and inner vessel to facilitate the insertion and removal of samples. An atomizing nozzle is positioned within the vapor space and is configured to receive a flow of liquid cryogen and to produce a flow of atomized liquid cryogen that vaporizes within the vapor space to thereby cool the vapor space. A controller is configured to control the flow of liquid cryogen to the freezer.
