摘要: A burner component of a burner. The burner has a flow channel, in which combustion air flows in a flow direction from upstream to downstream. The burner component includes a wall portion, which adjoins the flow channel; a plurality of injection nozzles, which are arranged in the wall portion; and a plurality of vortex generators, which are arranged on the wall portion. The vortex generators have a concavely curved sloped surface rising in the flow direction to improve the distribution of the fuel in the combustion air.

摘要: An adaptive trapped vortex combustor for a gas turbine engine includes a combustion chamber, a fuel injector, and one or more chutes. The combustion chamber is defined by an outer liner, an inner liner, and a dome, and includes a primary combustion zone within the combustion chamber defining a vortex cavity for a trapped vortex, the vortex cavity having a volume therein, a secondary combustion zone within the combustion chamber, and an opening from the primary combustion zone to the secondary combustion zone. The fuel injector injects a fuel into the primary combustion zone. The one or more chutes provide an air flow to the primary combustion zone and/or the secondary combustion zone. A feature of the adaptive trapped vortex combustor is controllable such that a residence time of the fuel in the vortex cavity is controllable based on an operating condition of the gas turbine engine.

摘要: A combustor for a gas turbine engine. The combustor has a combustor liner that includes a vortex turbulence generator. The vortex turbulence generator has a flow passage extending therethrough, the flow passage being defined by a wall about a periphery of the flow passage, and a plurality of vortex generating turbulators disposed on the wall, each of the plurality of vortex generating turbulators a projection portion extending from a surface of the wall into the flow passage and generating a vortex turbulent flow of an oxidizer passing through the flow passage from a cold surface side of the combustor liner to a hot surface side of the combustor liner.

摘要: A fuel injector includes a fuel nozzle configured to issue a spray of fuel from a fuel outlet in a downstream direction along an injection axis. The fuel nozzle includes a nozzle body that defines a main flow passage therethrough. An injection fuel line is in fluid communication with the fuel nozzle to supply fuel to the fuel nozzle. A torch ignitor with a flame outlet opens into the main flow passage of the fuel nozzle for issuing flame into the main flow passage. The flame outlet meets the main flow passage at a position that is downstream of the fuel outlet with respect to the downstream direction along the injection axis.

摘要: This invention relates to a vortex station and method for producing a vortex similar to one of a group consisting of dust-devils and waterspouts. The apparatus comprises a ground platform forming a base for the vortex station, a plurality of vanes to direct an air flow into a vortex station and about the vortex station in a substantially swirling manner, at least one wind turbine disposed near the centre of said vortex station, in a path of a concentrated air flow, wherein the movement of the air in the vortex station is such that an atmospheric buoyancy vortex is created in the centre of the vortex station, a supply of a working fluid (e.g. water) to the vortex station at or near the centre of the vortex station such that the air is of a saturated condition or an at least partially saturated condition with the working fluid (e.g. water), the working fluid (e.g. water) supplied at a sufficient quantity or amount so as to assist with maintaining buoyancy and stability of a vortex created.

摘要: A method of reducing noise from a combustor of a gas turbine engine includes the steps of establishing a maximum noise limit that may be for a particular frequency range. A primary fuel flow percentage, which may be emitted from a fuel nozzle arrangement having various groupings of simplex and duplex nozzles, is then established. An immersion depth measured between an aft rim of a swirler and a distal tip of the fuel nozzles may then be reduced thereby reducing the noise amplitude.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods that are useful for one or more aspects of a power production plant. More particularly, the disclosure relates to combustor apparatuses and methods for a combustor adapted to utilize different fuel mixtures derived from gasification of a solid fuel. Combustion of the different fuel mixtures within the combustor can be facilitated by arranging elements of the combustor controlled so that a defined set of combustion characteristics remains substantially constant across a range of different fuel mixtures.

摘要: A mixer for blending fuel and air in a combustor of a turbine engine. The mixer includes a central body having a central passageway and a central axis. The mixer includes a plurality of tubes positioned radially around the central axis and circumferentially around a periphery of the mixer. Each of the tubes of the mixer includes opposed openings and a tangential opening. Each of the tubes of the mixer includes a cylindrical interior mixing passage configured to receive air flow from the opposed openings and the tangential opening and a fuel flow. The opposed openings are configured to spread the fuel flow laterally and the tangential opening is configured to spread the fuel flow tangentially.
