Abstract: A method of operation is provided during which heat energy is transferred into a first heat exchange fluid during a first mode of operation and during a second mode of operation. The first heat exchange fluid is directed through a first flowpath of a heat exchanger during the first mode of operation and during the second mode of operation. A second heat exchange fluid is directed through a second flowpath of the heat exchanger during the first mode of operation. At least some of the heat energy is transferred from the first heat exchange fluid into the second heat exchange fluid. A third heat exchange fluid is directed through a third flowpath of the heat exchanger during the second mode of operation. At least some of the heat energy is transferred from the first heat exchange fluid into the third heat exchange fluid.

Abstract: A pipe freezing device is disclosed that facilitates the use of a pipe freezing method which changes the temperature of the ocean. The pipe freezing device comprises a liquid nitrogen component which is applied to at least one pipe. Thus, the liquid nitrogen component is used to make the temperature of the pipes just below freezing, thereby causing the water flowing through the pipes to become colder.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a fluid flow augmenting device to augment a fluid flow in any fluid circulation system without significant additional power consumption. The device includes an annular body extending along a longitudinal axis and defining an internal volume. The annular body includes a fluid inlet on one longitudinal end and a fluid outlet on another end and a first and second fluid directing structures. The first fluid directing structure receives a first fluid flow with a first fluid flow rate from a fluid source via the fluid inlet while the second fluid directing structure induces a second fluid flow with a second fluid flow rate from around the device to combine with the first fluid flow and generate an augmented fluid flow having an augmented fluid flow rate to be exhausted via the fluid outlet.

Abstract: An energy storage system (TES) converts variable renewable electricity (VRE) to continuous heat at over 1000° C. Intermittent electrical energy heats a solid medium. Heat from the solid medium is delivered continuously on demand. Heat delivery via flowing gas establishes a thermocline which maintains high outlet temperature throughout discharge. The delivered heat which may be used for processes including power generation and cogeneration. In one application, the energy storage system provides higher-temperature heat to a steam cracking furnace system for converting a hydrocarbon feedstock into cracked gas, thereby increasing the efficiency of the temperature control.

Abstract: An aircraft cooling system comprises an evaporator, condenser, an accumulator, and a pump system. The evaporator is configured to cool a set of heat loads in an aircraft using a liquid. The liquid forms a vapor in response to cooling the set of heat loads. The condenser is configured to receive the vapor from the evaporator and cool the vapor in which cooling the vapor forms the liquid. The accumulator is configured to receive the liquid from the condenser and store the liquid. The pump system is configured to pump the liquid stored in the accumulator to the evaporator.

Abstract: The disclosure discloses a condensing heat exchanger and a water heating/heating device thereof. The condensing heat exchanger includes: a housing including a first end portion and a second end portion opposite to each other, and a side wall arranged between the first end portion and the second end portion, the second end portion being provided with a mounting portion for mounting a combustor; a smoke outlet arranged on the housing; a heat exchange component arranged inside the housing; and a first heat insulating member arranged close to the first end portion. A first gap is provided between the first heat insulating member and the first end portion, and at least part of smoke which has exchanged heat with the heat exchange component can flow through the first gap and be discharged from the smoke outlet. This application improves reliability of the condensing heat exchanger and the water heating/heating device thereof and reduces the cost by optimizing an internal structure of the condensing heat exchanger on the premise of ensuring the heat insulating and cooling effect.
