摘要： Muzzleloader systems including a pre-packaged propellant charge with a primer and receptacle. The muzzleloader system may include a propellant containment vessel separate from the primer and the projectile and that doesn't contact with the projectile until assembly. The muzzleloader may be rear loading, with a constriction portion forward of the breech chamber. The propellant containment vessel may include a body portion having a forward opening, with a propellant charge disposed therein and a cap portion that is crimp rolled within the mouth of the vessel to seal the forward opening. The closed end of the propellant containment vessel may define a primer receptacle configured to receive the primer. The receptacle may define a depth that is less than the primer height so that, when inserted into the receptacle, the primer extends rearwardly beyond the containment vessel. The muzzleloader system may be configured to fire only specifically configured propellant containment vessels.

摘要： A firearm has a lower receiver with a first channel formed in a first surface of the lower receiver, and an upper receiver attached to the lower receiver at a pivot point. A compressible material is disposed within the first channel between the upper receiver and lower receiver. The upper receiver compresses the compressible material when the upper receiver closes onto the lower receiver. A recess can be formed within the first channel and extends into the lower receiver deeper than the first channel. A second channel is formed in a second surface of the lower receiver. Alternatively, the lower receiver has a slot formed in a surface of the lower receiver, and the compressible material is disposed within the slot. The slot includes a bottom surface and vertical surface extending from the bottom surface to the surface of the lower receiver, and rounded ends.

摘要： A device for sealing the cartridge chamber of a small arms weapon that fires a caseless cartridge consisting of a propellant charge and a bullet that is connected to the propellant charge. The device includes a pot-shaped seal having a base and a side. The seal is disposed on the weapon's butt front edge so that at least a portion of the side's outer surface presses on an adjacent inner surface of the cartridge chamber when the butt is closed. The outer surface further sealingly engages the chamber adjacent inner surface in response to the gas pressure from the propellant charge when the cartridge is fired. The side's outer surface is defined by a first generatrix that is parallel to the chamber axis and the adjacent chamber inner surface is defined by a second generatrix, where the first and second generatrices converge. The seal further includes a replaceable insert that is secured to the butt's front edge and is disposed proximate the seal's base so the insert's top front side is adjacent the propellant charge's base. The insert further includes an extractor claw, extending parallel to the chamber axis, that engages a peripheral groove around the propellant charge so an unfired caseless cartridge can be withdrawn from the cartridge chamber.

摘要： An obturator ring for location between a sliding wedge-type breech block and a base ring in the barrel of a cannon to provide a seal and allow satisfactory closing movement of the obturator ring. The ring comprises an angle section with a radial flank having a disc lining on the external side facing the breech, the flank which is parallel to the axis of the bore of the barrel having on the external side a cylindrical lining. The linings are deformable, incompressible and capable of being forced over their widths against the base ring or the wedge insert by the flanks which deform under gas pressure. The linings are interconnected in the corner cross section of the obturator ring via a number of connecting rod-like members disposed in bores through the obturator ring; the flanks are joined through a rounded corner portion which allows flexure to effect through the tips of the flanks. The linings provide a large sealing surface of which the minimum width is greater than one-half of the length.

摘要： A submarine weapon handling system and method includes a storage tray, ramming tray, and transfer tray. Each tray has a plurality of rotatable bands received in grooves in the trays and are movable between an open weapon receiving position and a closed weapon clamping position. The storage tray and ramming tray are stationary and the transfer tray is movable. The transfer tray is moved into contact with a weapon secured in the storage tray, the bands of the transfer tray are rotated around the weapon, and the bands in the storage tray are rotated from closed to open position permitting the transfer tray to move a selected weapon into the bands of the ramming tray which are then rotated into weapon clamping position while the bands of the transfer tray are opened permitting the transfer tray to be moved away from the ramming tray.

摘要： A rammer car has a rammer head which is movably supported in the transversal direction. The rammer car is composed of two units which are arranged to carry out a longitudinal displacement movement between the units in the riding direction of the rammer car. The rammer head is fastened in the first unit and the latter is arranged to be forced by the second unit to carry out a turning movement during the longitudinal displacement movement between the units, during which the rammer head follows the first unit and therewith carries out its turning movement in the transversal direction. After said longitudinal displacement movements the units are co-ordinated for a longitudinal displacement movement together in the longitudinal displacement direction.

摘要： A ramming unit comprises a tooth (5) which is placed at the front parts of the unit. The tooth is arranged so that it can be raised and lowered, and in its raised position the rear side (5a) of the tooth coacts with a shell (2) or the like when this is rammed in a firearm by means of the ramming unit. In its lowered position the tooth permits the passage of a bag charge (4) or the like which is to be placed behind the shell in the bore of the barrel. The tooth and the other parts are made with force relieving means which transfer substantial parts of the forces arising on the tooth in connection with the ramming direct to said other parts of the ramming unit, and not via the supporting means of the tooth.
