摘要: An apparatus for characterizing a substructure of a semiconductor device includes a potentiostat; a counter electrode electrically connected to the potentiostat; a solid electrolyte attached to a surface of the counter electrode; a reference electrode embedded within at least a portion of the solid electrolyte and electrically connected to the potentiostat; and a probe electrically connected to the potentiostat. The solid electrolyte includes a solid porous material and an ionic liquid disposed within the solid porous material. A method of characterizing a substructure of a semiconductor device includes contacting at least a portion of a surface of the substructure of the semiconductor device with a second surface of a solid electrolyte.

摘要: There is provided a method of producing a gas sensor element capable of detecting a concentration of specific ions based on a limiting current passing between a first electrode and a second electrode according to a concentration difference of the specific ions. The method includes a temperature raising step, a current measuring step and a control step. In the temperature raising step, a heater is energized to raise temperature of a solid electrolyte. In the current measuring step, a voltage is applied across the first and second electrodes and to measure a limiting current. In the control step, a part of a diffusion resistance layer is removed from the gas sensor element by using an ultrashort pulsed laser to control a diffusion length that is a length of an introduction path to maintain the limiting current to be within a final standard range.

摘要: A gas sensor includes a sensing element having an electrode pad a metal terminal, and a separator that has insertion holes in which the metal terminal is held. The metal terminal includes a main body and an elastic portion that is integrally connected to the main body and is elastically connected to the electrode pad at a predetermined contact point. The main body includes a front-end-side restricting portion and a rear-end-side restricting portion that restrict the movement of the main body by contacting wall surfaces of the insertion hole when the main body moves in a direction intersecting the direction of an axial line. The contact point is located between the front-end-side restricting portion and the rear-end-side restricting portion in the direction of the axial line. The front-end-side restricting portion and the rear-end-side restricting portion are connected to each other so that a flat board portion is interposed therebetween.

摘要: A gas sensor element includes a heating portion and a ceramic layer. The ceramic layer has a first and second face, and is configured to be heated by the heating portion. The ceramic layer has an open-hole portion extending therethrough in a thickness direction from the first face toward the second face and constituting a through-hole for electrically connecting the first face to the second face. The open-hole portion is demarcated by a first inner wall face, and a second inner wall defining a recessed portion that is recessed inward of the ceramic layer. With the ceramic layer having a thickness of 1, the length of the recessed portion to the most distal position thereof from a position on the first inner wall face that is closest to a center axis of the open-hole portion is 0.05 or more and 0.20 or less.
