摘要: Radar signal detection and parameter estimation is central in passive surveillance systems, providing inputs for many information processing modules in order to detect, localize, indentify and intercept hostile targets. The proposed method for detecting radar signals and estimating their intra-pulse parameters in time-varying noisy environments consists of several stages: magnitude-squared envelopes calculation, adaptive noise floor estimation, detection statistics calculation, rising edge detection, time of arrival estimation, falling edge detection, time of departure estimation, pulse width estimation, amplitude estimation and center frequency and bandwidth estimation. Estimated intra-pulse parameters are wrapped into pulse descriptor words (PDWs) for information processing tasks, where each PDW consists of time of arrival, time of departure, pulse width, pulse amplitude, center frequency, signal bandwidth, noise floor level and additional useful information. The method is sequential, implemented in hardware platforms for real-time surveillance applications. The proposed method yielded much better performance than classical threshold-based edge (TED) detection methods.

A wireless device, such as a radar device, may measure a received signal strength of a detected signal. The received signal strength may be associated with at least one bin of a radar image. The wireless device may compare the received signal strength to a filtered signal strength. The filtered signal strength may be associated with a threshold difference in signal strength from the filtered signal strength. The wireless device may track the at least one bin of the radar image in response to the received signal strength being less than or equal to the threshold difference in signal strength from the filtered signal strength.

摘要: In a system a register stores data samples and includes a cell under test (CUT) in which a test data sample is stored, a first window of multiple cells on one side of the CUT, and a second window of multiple cells on the other side of the CUT. A rank determining circuit receives an incoming data sample entering the register and data sample(s) currently in cell(s) in the first window of multiple cells. A sorted index array stores ranks of data samples that are stored in the register. Comparing and selection circuitry selects a Kth smallest index from the sorted index array and a corresponding data sample from the register. A target comparator receives the test data sample and the data sample corresponding to the Kth smallest index of the sorted index array, and outputs a target detection signal.

摘要: An object recognition device for vehicles, including a sensor, a filter device and an analysis device. Signals from an object are detectable by the sensor. The detected signals are filterable by the filter device and then feedable to the analysis device. The analysis device is configured to recognize the object by analyzing the filtered signals. The filter device includes an averaging unit, which averages the profile of the amplitudes of the detected signals, and a non-linear filter unit, which is provided based on a linear low-pass filter with a variable time constant and filters the detected signals. A value profile corresponding to the difference between the averaged amplitude profile and the filtered signals is feedable to the analysis device for analyzing and recognizing the object. The variable time constant is establishable based on the difference between the filtered signals and the detected signals and based on the averaged amplitude profile.

The radar receiver includes a reception phase rotator that assigns a second phase rotation in a direction opposite to a direction of the first phase rotation to the reflection wave signal in accordance with the pattern.
