摘要: A system for detecting disposal of metallic objects into an opening of a medical waste container, including: an indicator for indicating passage of metallic objects through the opening, a pair of receive coils and a transmit coil spaced therebetween shaped for receiving waste therethrough adjacent to the opening, and a controller in electrical communication with the coils. The controller generates and communicates a transmit signal to the transmit coil, which generates a magnetic field that induces voltage in each of the receive coils, which each generate a receive signal. The controller generates a waveform based on the receive signals with a baseline corresponding to absence of metallic objects, and analyzes the waveform with respect to opposite first and second thresholds. The controller activates the indicator in response to metallic objects passing through the coils when the waveform first exceeds the first threshold and then subsequently exceeds the second threshold.

摘要: Systems and methods for sensing and tracing proximity contacts use a magnetic field detection or coupling technology where the detection range between proximate devices may be accurately determined. The detection range may be accurately determined, for example, by generating and detecting a defined magnetic field range and/or by measurement of the received magnetic field strength and direction within an undefined magnetic field range. Proximity sensing devices perform a proximity magnetic field detection when located within a defined, generated magnetic field during a proximity contact interaction with another device that is generating a magnetic field. The magnetic fields generated and detected are generated to behave as quasistatic fields, in contrast to radios that generate and detect radiated, dynamic, electro-magnetic fields.

摘要: A wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion (“Li-Ion”) battery pack. The body portion of the housing encloses the plurality of sensing devices, such as capacitive plate sensors for sensing the presence of a stud behind a surface, a D-coil sensor for identifying the presence of metal behind the surface, and a non-contact voltage sensor. The display is configured to display the location of an object behind the surface in real-time, the depth of an object behind the surface, and whether an object behind the surface is ferrous or non-ferrous. The control section includes actuation devices for controlling the functions and operations of the wall scanner, such as the scanning mode.

A method may comprise disposing an electromagnetic logging tool downhole; emitting an electromagnetic field from the transmitter; energizing a casing with the electromagnetic field to produce an eddy current; recording the eddy current from the casing with the receiver; creating a variable-density-log from the recorded eddy current; selecting a wrapping period for the variable-density-log; creating a wrapped-variable-density-log from the variable-density-log using the wrapping period; and determining at least one collar location and a pipe index with the wrapped-variable-density-log. A system for to detect a collar may comprise an electromagnetic logging tool. The electromagnetic logging tool may comprise a transmitter and a receiver, wherein the transmitter and the receiver may be a coil. The system may further comprise an information handling system.

摘要: The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for detecting a target object via a security post. A plurality of sections are arranged in a vertical direction. Each section is designated to detect the target object in a vertical range by receiving information related to magnetic field from one or more sensors, analyzing the sensed information to extract features characterizing the magnetic field variations in the corresponding vertical range, and determining whether the target object is present in the vertical range based on the extracted features. When the target object is detected by a section, an alarm associated with the section is triggered to indicate the detection. An overall detection result is determined based on the detection result from each of the sections and is displayed on a display screen.
