    摘要: An apparatus for measuring the magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) of a specimen requiring analysis of magnetic properties, such as a magnetic random access memory (MRAM) or electrical steel sheet, is disclosed. The disclosed MOKE measuring device includes a rotational chuck on which a MOKE measurement target is disposed and which rotates the MOKE measurement target, a first magnetic field generator including a first coil spaced apart from the rotational chuck and tilted at a predetermined angle with respect to the rotational chuck, and configured to generate a magnetic field, a second magnetic field generator including a second coil spaced apart from the rotational chuck and tilted at a predetermined angle with respect to the rotational chuck, and configured to generate a magnetic field, and a frame to which the first and second magnetic field generators are fixed.

    摘要: An optical isolator for a wavelength band of 400 to 470 nm includes: a Faraday rotator having a Verdet constant equal to or greater than 750 Rad/T·m at a wavelength of 400 nm to 470 nm; and a hollow magnet provided on an outer periphery of the Faraday rotator, wherein a magnetic flux density B(T) applied to the Faraday rotator is within the range of the following formula (1), and an optical path length L(cm) over which the Faraday rotator is provided is within the range of the following formula (2): B≤0.40 (1); 0.26≤L≤0.50 (2). Thus, a miniaturized optical isolator which is transparent at violet and blue wavelengths of 400 to 470 nm is provided.

    摘要: Suspensions of magneto-responsive Janus colloids form chains and undergo alignment under the influence of a magnetic field. When the magnetic field is aligned with a light path, light transmission through the sample increases as compared to randomly or orthogonally oriented chains. The emissivity response of this suspension is presented as a function of particle concentration and magnetic field strength. A variation of the Beer-Lambert model and ray-tracing simulations capture the behavior of the experimentally measured difference in intensity between magnetically activated and non-activated Brownian suspensions. Experiments demonstrate up to 25% contrast in transmission of visible light, which may be further optimized through materials selection. Similar experiments when these Janus particle chains are suspended in carbon tetrachloride, demonstrate an emissivity variation in the near infrared of ˜10%.

    摘要: An optical isolator for generally collimated laser radiation includes a single polarizing element, at least one Faraday optical element, at least one reciprocal polarization altering optical element disposed at the single polarizing element, at least one reflective optical element for reflecting radiation to provide an even number of passes through the at least one Faraday optical element, and a magnetic structure. The magnetic structure is capable of generating a magnetic field within the at least one Faraday optical element that is generally aligned with the even number of passes along a beam propagation axis.     摘要: An optical circulator and an optical module are provided. The optical circulator includes a first polarization beam splitter member having a common optical port, a second polarization beam splitter member having an emittance optical port and at least two receiving optical ports, and a first polarization adjustment member. The two receiving optical ports respectively receive two linearly polarized light beams. The two linearly polarized light beams respectively pass through the second polarization beam splitter member, and sequentially pass through the first polarization adjustment member and the first polarization beam splitter member to be combined into a first combined light beam for being output from the common optical port. The common optical port receives a compound optical signal that passes through the first polarization beam splitter member to be split into another two linearly polarized light beams that are combined into a second combined light beam for being output.
