摘要: A developing apparatus includes a developing container to accommodate a developer and having first and second chambers divided by a partition wall for supplying the developer to a rotatable developing member and first and second communicating portions to allow the developer to move between first and second chambers by conveyance screws. A third communicating portion is disposed between the first and second communicating portions and above the conveyance screws to allow air inside the developing container to move between the first chamber and the second chamber. The developing container further includes a third chamber disposed above the second chamber in the vertical direction and accommodates initial developer in an unused state of the developing apparatus, and an opening portion for discharging the air inside the developing container to outside of the developing container is provided in the third chamber, with the opening being disposed above the third chamber.

摘要: In some examples, a developing device includes a developing container including an opening and to store a developer, a developing sleeve installed in the developing container and partially exposed to an outside of the developing container through the opening, a regulation member upstream of the opening in a rotation direction of the developing sleeve and to regulate an amount of the developer adhered to the developing sleeve and supplied to the opening, and a magnetic member inside the developing sleeve. The magnetic member includes a main pole facing the opening, a regulation pole facing the regulation member, and a catch pole upstream of the regulation pole in the rotation direction of the developing sleeve. The magnetic member is to cause adhesion of the developer in the developing container to the developing sleeve. At least one of lengths of the catch pole or the regulation pole and diameters of both end portions of the catch pole or the regulation pole are less than a length and a diameter, respectively, of the main pole.

The control unit is capable of executing a scattered toner recovery mode at non-image forming time, in which the filter is vibrated, a potential difference is generated in the direction for the toner to move from the developer carrier to the image carrier, the developer carrier is rotated in a reverse direction to that at image forming time, and the image carrier is rotated in the same direction as that at the image forming time, so that scattered toner, which has dropped from the filter and adhered to the developer carrier, is recovered by the cleaning unit via the image carrier.

摘要: An image forming apparatus to execute an image forming operation for forming an image includes an image bearing member, a development unit, a drive unit, a controller, and a humidity detection unit to detect humidity near the development unit. The controller controls the conveyance and the developer carrying member through the drive unit not to execute a mode for driving the conveyance and the developer carrying member without executing the image forming operation when the humidity detected when power of the image forming apparatus is shifted from off to on is higher than a predetermined value, and to execute the mode when the detected humidity falls below the predetermined value afterward.
