Abstract: A method for aligning a workpiece in a working space of a machine tool having a numerical control system uses a probe. 3D models of the working space, probe, and workpiece are virtually displayed. The workpiece is positioned in the working space and the virtual workpiece is positioned in the virtual working space so that there is an initial coincidence between positions thereof. The probe is manually positioned relative to the workpiece, wherein a planned probing point and probing direction are selected based on a minimum distance of the virtual probe from the virtual workpiece, and are displayed. Enabling of the probing is based on quality of the planned probing point, and, when enabled, a probing operation is triggered, and coordinates of a probing point are determined. The position of the workpiece is recalculated using these coordinates, and the position of the virtual workpiece is updated.

Abstract: A time necessary for phase alignment is shortened in a polygon machining device having a plurality of cutting tools. In phase alignment of polygon machining, a phase RCURRENT of the workpiece axis and tool axis before phase alignment and a machining-allowing phase command value RNEW(n) are calculated, a new phase command value R′NEW is calculated while considering restrictions such as a phase alignment method and a maximum rotation speed. By adjusting a phase to the new phase command value R′NEW, a time necessary for phase alignment can be shortened.

Abstract: In a method for operating a machine having a trajectory determined by a parts program and including multiple block transitions with a non-tangential contour, a high trajectory speed and a short operating time are achieved. For a first position-controlled axis, an acceleration duration different from a first period duration can be specified, wherein a transition maximum speed for the first position-controlled axis is determined such that, when the first position-controlled axis moves with the transition maximum speed and the transition maximum acceleration is applied, the speed of the first position-controlled axis has a value of zero at the end of the acceleration duration. The traversing movement is determined such that the speed of the first position-controlled axis, at the transition from a first trajectory section to a second trajectory section, does not exceed the transition maximum speed.

Abstract: A virtual grid system is provided that enables allocation of energy produced by an energy producing asset to individual units of a multi-unit building. The system tracks the amount of electrical energy produced by the energy producing asset and also tracks an amount of electrical energy used by each individual unit. The system compares energy production information including pairs of an amount of energy produced and a corresponding time interval during which the amount of energy was produced to energy usage information including pairs of an amount of energy used and a corresponding time interval during which the amount of energy was used. The system allocates an amount of energy produced during each time interval to the individual units based on the amount of energy consumed by each respective individual unit during the time intervals. The system also calculates an energy cost allocation for each individual unit.
