Abstract:
A construction site status monitoring device is provided including processing circuitry configured to receive sensor data from a sensor associated with one or more construction devices, receive location data associated with the one or more construction devices, and generate a construction site status report based on the sensor data and the location data, wherein the construction site status report is indicative of conditions and location of the one or more construction devices.
Abstract:
A system includes a first sensor supported proximate an opening having an RF attenuating material such that signals emitted from first sensor are stronger on a first side of the opening than on a second side of the opening and a second sensor supported proximate the opening having an RF attenuating material such that signals emitted from the second sensor are stronger on the second side of the opening than on the first side of the opening.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a movable device allowing instantaneous correction of error in a moving state and an error correction method thereof. The movable device includes a drive unit that is previously set up with an allowable error and has a moving path along which detection units are installed in a line. Precise measurements are taken in advance to obtain position data of each of the detection units. Comparison is then made by the controller between instantaneous data and corresponding comparison data. When the controller determines the instantaneous data exceed the comparison data, an instantaneous correction operation is made to make the instantaneous data not exceeding the comparison data. Acceleration or deceleration may be made by the drive unit to effect such a control that when the movable piece reaches the next detection unit, the instantaneous data do not exceed the comparison data.
Abstract:
A fail-safe static switch for controlling the supply of redundant electrical power to critical loads. A first control path has a signal analyzer configured to monitor predetermined characteristics of a power supply voltage. The signal analyzer generates a first failure signal when the characteristics of the power supply voltage monitored by the signal analyzer are not in compliance with predetermined metrics. A second control path has a first electrical circuit configured to monitor predetermined characteristics of the power supply voltage. The first electrical circuit generates a second failure signal when the characteristics of the power supply voltage monitored by the first electrical circuit are not in compliance with predetermined metrics. The fail-safe static switch further includes an output providing an electrical output signal. The electrical output signal changes state when at least one of the first failure signal and the second failure signal are generated.
Abstract:
Vibration protection in a compressor system with a variable speed compressor may include operating a variable speed compressor of a compressor system at a first frequency, measuring a vibration of the compressor system at the first frequency, determining whether the vibration exceeds a maximum vibration value, and operating the variable speed compressor at an average frequency equivalent to the first frequency, when the vibration exceeds the maximum vibration value, by identifying an allowed upper frequency and an allowed lower frequency, calculating an upper operating time and a lower operating time, and operating the variable speed compressor at the allowed upper frequency for the upper operating time and the allowed lower frequency for the lower operating time.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a germicidal system and method for deactivating pathogens on the surface of a bodily extremity protected by a prophylactic covering substantially opaque to UV-C radiation. The device includes an enclosure having one or more openings through which the extremity can be inserted. The enclosure contains a radiation source configured to produce germicidal radiation having a wavelength of about 253.7 nm. The openings are configured relative to the radiation source such that the inserted extremity is in close proximity to the radiation source. The prophylactic covered extremity is preferably a gloved hand thereby sanitizing the surface of the glove. The extremity inserted is preferably exposed for a predetermined period of time to ensure a desired level of sanitization. Optionally, the device can include detectors to determine the position of the hand, the spread of the fingers, and whether the hand is covered by a glove.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to apparatus and methods for making a peroxycarboxylic acid. The apparatus includes a reaction catalyst and a guard column for pretreating one or more reagents, which can increase the life, activity, and/or safety of the reaction catalyst. The peroxycarboxylic acid compositions made by the method and apparatus can include one or more peroxycarboxylic acids.
Abstract:
An electric power tool is provided that includes a motor as a driving source, a first operation switch, a first semiconductor switch, and a second semiconductor switch. The first operation switch is operated by a user to be turned ON/OFF. The first semiconductor switch, provided on a current path from the power source to the motor, includes at least one semiconductor switching device. When the first operation switch is OFF, the first semiconductor switch is turned OFF to interrupt the current path. When the first operation switch is ON, the first semiconductor switch is turned ON to close the current path. The second semiconductor switch is provided on the current path in series with the first semiconductor switch and includes at least one semiconductor switching device. The second semiconductor switch closes/interrupts the current path by being turned ON/OFF in accordance with an input control signal.
Abstract:
In a controller, a first switch unit establishes electrical connection between a power-off brake and a power source when a servomotor is energized. The electrical connection causes the power-off brake to be released. A second switch unit is provided between the power-off brake and the power source. The second switch unit establishes electrical connection between the power-off brake and the power source upon being manually operated during the servomotor being deenergized. A calculating unit calculates a driving speed of the joint by the servomotor. A determining unit determines whether the calculated driving speed of the joint is greater than a predetermined threshold speed. An interrupting unit interrupts a supply of electrical power from the power source to the power-off brake through the electrical connection established by the second switch unit when it is determined that the calculated driving speed of the joint is greater than the predetermined threshold speed.
