A handheld payment terminal computer program may initiate Bluetooth numeric pairing with a base station; generate a handheld payment terminal Bluetooth pairing code; capture a coded light sequence emitted by LEDs on the base station; decode the coded light sequence to determine the base station Bluetooth pairing code; cause the base station Bluetooth pairing code and the handheld payment terminal Bluetooth pairing code to be displayed on a display; and in response to Bluetooth pairing code match, pairing the handheld payment terminal with the base station. The base station provides access to one or more networks and/or data communication to the handheld payment terminal when paired.

AI is relied on, such as, a neural network implementing sequence modeling, to predict the likelihood that a user/transactor is present at the POS terminal. Location of a user is tracked via a designated mobile communication device and in instances in which a location of the mobile communication cannot be identified at the time of the transaction, the invention performs analysis based at least on the last-in-time location of the mobile communication device, the user's travel route leading up to the last-in-time location of the mobile communication device and other factors to predict a likelihood that the user is located at the POS terminal. As a result of the predicted likelihood either the transaction is automatically decisioned or the user/transactor is alerted and requested to their approve or reject/deny the transaction.

An exemplary system may send a request for a current image to a mobile device associated with a user. The request may include an indication of a requested action to be performed by the user. The system may classify an action depicted in the current image obtained in response to the request. A determination may be made as to whether the depicted action corresponds to the requested action based on the classification. When it does correspond, the system may compare facial feature(s) recognized in obtained past image(s) associated with the user to a facial feature(s) recognized in the current image to determine when the user is depicted in both the past image(s) and the current image. When the user is depicted in both the past image(s) and the current image, the system may allow the transaction to proceed.

In order to identify the items placed into or removed from the cart, the cart may analyze image data, as well as weight data indicating a current weight estimation of a basket of the cart. The cart may include a weight sensor that generates a signal comprising a series of weight measurements of the basket of the cart. The cart may use an algorithm that calculates different mean values of different window sizes of the weight measurements of this signal and, thereafter, may calculate an average of these mean values. This average may be stored as the current weight estimation of the basket.

    摘要: A point-of-sale (POS) device includes a processor, a battery, a transaction object reader, a printer with a printer controller, and optionally a temperature sensor. The processor determines a present power discharge capability rate of the battery, optionally based on a temperature measured by the temperature sensor. The processor also calculates a first estimated power draw rate based on a first setting value for at least one of the components of the POS device, such as the printer. If the first estimated power draw rate is dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, a second estimated power draw rate is calculated based on a second setting value for the one or more components. If the second estimated power draw rate is no longer dangerously close to the present power discharge capability rate of the battery, the components are set to the second settings value.
