摘要: A medium storage device includes: a housing frame having, at a front portion, an entrance for replenishment and recovery to which a transit cassette is connectable, an identification unit serving to identify whether a medium is a normal medium or a rejection medium, a temporary holding unit configured to temporarily accommodate a medium, a recycle cassette configured to store the medium identified as the normal medium, a conveyance path configured to convey the medium between the identification unit, the temporary holding unit, and the recycle cassette, and a control unit configured to control the conveyance path such that the medium replenished from the transit cassette is conveyed to the temporary holding unit, the medium transferred to the temporary holding unit is conveyed to the identification unit, and the medium identified as the normal medium in the identification unit is conveyed to the recycle cassette.

摘要: The present invention enables determination as to whether a banknote 100 is to be discharged even when only the feature quantity of a portion of the banknote is acquired at the time of discharging the banknote in a case in which a transport route length L1 from a reading position 18a of an optical recognition sensor 18 to an inlet/outlet 12 as a banknote discharge port is shorter than a total length LA of the banknote in a transport direction. At the time of discharging the banknote 100 already authenticated, a control unit 200 judges the type (denomination) of the banknote on the basis of a feature quantity of a reading target 103 that passes the optical recognition sensor 18 before a leading end 100a of the banknote 100 transported in a discharge direction protrudes to outside the device from the inlet/outlet 12.

摘要: The present application concerns the visual identification of materials or documents for tracking or authentication purposes. It describes methods to automatically authenticate an object by comparing some object images with reference images, the object images being characterized by the fact that visual elements used for comparison are non-disturbing for the naked eye. In some described approaches it provides the operator with visible features to locate the area to be imaged. It also proposes ways for real-time implementation enabling user friendly detection using mobile devices like smart phones.

摘要: Provided is a computer-implemented method for authenticating an identification document. The method includes determining, with at least one processor, whether image data associated with the identification document has at least one predetermined indicia. In response to determining that the image data has the at least one predetermined indicia, the method includes determining whether the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to at least one invalidation mark on the identification document, and, in response to determining that the at least one predetermined indicia corresponds to the at least one invalidation mark, determining, that the identification document is invalid. In response to determining that the identification document is invalid, the method includes preventing or causing the prevention of at least one action from being performed. A system and computer program product for authenticating identification documents are also disclosed.

摘要: Current temperatures for an enclosure of a media handling device are monitored and managed using threshold temperature values. When a current temperature deviates below a threshold temperature value, commands are sent to modules of the device to start and idle their motors causing heat to be generated from current flowing to the motors. The heat radiates within the enclosure raising the current temperature. When the current temperature reaches a second threshold temperature value for the enclosure, second commands are sent to the modules of the device to stop idling their motors causing heat within the enclosure to dissipate and lowering the current temperature for the enclosure.

摘要: A method is provided for generating templates for checking value documents of a predefined value document type having at least two predefined production elements that optionally partially overlap, as well as digital training images of training value documents of the predefined value document type. The method involves: for each of the training images, determining position data sets having position coordinates in a coordinate space each describing the positions of the production elements on the value document at least relative to one another; forming at least two position sub-regions of the coordinate space, each comprising at least one predefined number of position data sets. The position subregions contain no common position data sets; for each of the position sub-regions, determining a template using training images of the value documents; storing the template and position sub-region data describing the position and extent of each position sub-region.
