Abstract: A display device and a driving method for the display device are provided. The display device includes a driving circuit, a backlight driving unit, and a display panel. The driving circuit receives a plurality of pieces of image data. The plurality of pieces of image data include first image data and second image data. The display panel receives a plurality of image display signals of the plurality of pieces of image data. The driving circuit compares the first image data and the second image data to generate a comparison result, and provides a backlight brightness adjustment command to the backlight driving unit according to the comparison result.

Abstract: A device may include an electronic display having a backlight that generates light and multiple display pixels that modulate the amount of generated light emitted from the electronic display based on compensated image data. The backlight may include multiple illuminators that generate the light, and a first color component illuminator may have a slower response rate than a second color component illuminator. The device may also include image processing circuitry that generates the compensated image data by compensating input image data for a color shift associated with a change in brightness of the backlight and the slower response rate of the first color component illuminator. The input image data may be compensated by increasing first color component pixel values of the input image data relative to second color component pixel values of the input image data, and the compensated image data may be output to the electronic display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a multi-primary color system for display. A multi-primary color system increases the number of primary colors available in a color system and color system equipment. Increasing the number of primary colors reduces metameric errors from viewer to viewer. One embodiment of the multi-primary color system includes Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta primaries. The systems of the present invention maintain compatibility with existing color systems and equipment and provide systems for backwards compatibility with older color systems.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a device used in conjunction with night vision equipment. The device limits emission of wavelengths longer than 650 nm to less than 1.75% of total emission. A device including an LED light source optically coupled and/or radiationally connected to a red-emitting phosphor including Na2SiF6:Mn4+ is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with a display. The display may be configured to display standard dynamic range image content and high dynamic range image content at the same time. The control circuitry may dynamically adjust an amount of headroom for the high dynamic range image content to avoid washing out the standard dynamic range image content. For example, the control circuitry may reduce the amount of headroom available for high dynamic range image content with high average pixel luminance levels and low screen coverage. The headroom may be increased as the average pixel luminance levels decrease and/or as screen coverage increases. Different high dynamic range images that are displayed at the same time may be assigned different amounts of headroom (e.g., different peak brightness levels) based on average pixel luminance values, screen coverage, whether or not the content is within an active window on the display, etc.

The method includes: determining a target display position of a target object in an original image and a first size of a display region of an ink screen (102); generating a monochrome image with the first size according to the original image, where color values of pixel points in the monochrome image include at least one standard color value, and the target object is located at a target display position in the monochrome image (104); sending the monochrome image to the ink screen, so that the monochrome image is displayed by the ink screen in the display region (106). This method can improve the definition of the monochrome image displayed by the ink screen.
