摘要: Aspects relate to patterned nanostructures having a feature size not including film thickness of below 5 microns. The patterned nanostructures are made up of nanoparticles having an average particle size of less than 100 nm. A nanoparticle composition, which, in some cases, includes a binder, is applied to a substrate. A patterned mold used in concert with electromagnetic radiation function to manipulate the nanoparticle composition in forming the patterned nanostructure. In some embodiments, the patterned mold nanoimprints a pattern onto the nanoparticle composition and the composition is cured through UV or thermal energy. Three-dimensional patterned nanostructures may be formed. A number of patterned nanostructure layers may be prepared and joined together. In some cases, a patterned nanostructure may be formed as a layer that is releasable from the substrate upon which it is initially formed. Such releasable layers may be arranged to form a three-dimensional patterned nanostructure for suitable applications.

摘要: A superconducting article includes a substrate and a superconducting metal oxide film formed on the substrate. The metal oxide film including ions of an alkali metal, ions of a transition metal, and ions of an alkaline earth metal or a rare earth metal. For instance, the metal oxide film can include Rb ions, La ions, and Cu ions. The superconducting metal oxide film can have a critical temperature for onset of superconductivity of greater than 250 K, e.g., greater than room temperature.

摘要: A cable includes a center conductor and at least one layer formed of silicon dioxide fibers that are braided around the center conductor to form a braided dielectric core layer over the center conductor. An outer conductor layer is formed over the braided silicon dioxide core layer either as a wrapped tape or a semi-rigid conductor. In flexible embodiments of the cable, one or more outer strength layers and jackets may be applied over the outer conductor layer. In embodiments of the invention, the dielectric core layer includes at a plurality of sublayers of silicon dioxide fibers wherein each of the sublayers is successively braided on a previous sublayer.
