    摘要: A compliant electrical contact assembly for temporarily interfacing two electrical devices. The assembly includes a contact with a closed coil with opposed contact points and an axis that is angled from the direction of the compression force holding the assembly sandwiched between the electrical devices. The electrically shorted loops of the coil slide on the surfaces of one another as the compression force is applied, providing compliance. The contact can be made extremely small such that pitches in the micrometer range can be achieved with very low inductance values. The contact is installed in a through aperture in a dielectric panel. The coil fits into a center section of the aperture. The contact points extend from opposed openings of the aperture. Optionally, the aperture is filled with a compliant, conductive elastomer.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for pre-qualifying lines with respect to estimating the insertion loss of the line is presented. End-to-end insertion loss at high frequencies is estimated from measurements made at low frequencies through the voice switch at the central office of a telephone company. An AC voltage waveform is applied to the telephone line being tested. Real and imaginary components of the resultant waveform are measured. These measurements are captured and used to estimate the insertion loss of the telephone line at frequencies in the range of 40 kHz to 300 kHz.

    摘要: An arrangement for locking the disconnect linkage of a high-voltage switch is provided that includes two relatively movable locking members that are each moved between locked and unlocked positions in response to operation of the disconnect linkage. As the disconnect linkage is moved to an opened position, the two locking members are moved into relative overlapping alignment to receive a blocking member to prevent movement of the disconnect linkage. One locking member is carried by the disconnect linkage and the second member is carried by a pivotally mounted support arm that is affixed to the disconnect linkage so as to move therewith. Accordingly, the second locking member does not encroach on the space adjacent the disconnect linkage except when it is moved into alignment in the opened position. The support arm that carries the second locking member is arranged to guide the disconnect linkage and prevents undesirable movement of the disconnect linkage due to transverse forces on the disconnect linkage during movement between the opened and closed positions.

    摘要: A test fixture interfaces plural units under test (UUTs) with test equipment within a common equipment rack. The test fixture supports a plurality of vertically spaced apart shelf units. A shelf unit has a support surface and an input/output connector panel adjacent thereto, that define a UUT insertion cavity. An input/output connector panel contains cable terminations that terminate cables to various testing equipments. Insertion of a UUT into the insertion cavity places communication ports of the UUT adjacent to cable terminations of the adjacent input/output connector panel. Jumper cables interconnect communication ports of the UUT with cable terminations of the adjacent input/output connector panel.
