    摘要: A temperature-dependent switch has a first and a second stationary counter contact and a temperature-dependent switching mechanism with a contact member. The switching mechanism, in its first switching position, presses the contact member against the first counter contact and, in this case, produces an electrically conducting connection between the two counter contacts via the contact member. The switching mechanism, in its second switching position, holds the contact member at a spacing from the first counter contact. A closing lock is provided, which prevents the switch, once opened, from closing again. The closing lock locks the temperature-dependent switching mechanism permanently in the second switching position thereof in a mechanical manner.

    摘要: An overvoltage protection element with a housing, an overvoltage-limiting component arranged in the housing, and with two connection elements for electrically connecting the overvoltage protection element to the current or signal path to be protected, wherein, normally, the connection elements are each in electrically conductive contact with a pole of the overvoltage-limiting component. Reliable and effective electrical connection in the normal state and reliable isolation of a defective overvoltage-limiting component are ensured by the fact that a thermally expandable material is arranged within the housing in a way that, in the event of thermal overloading of the overvoltage-limiting component, the position of the overvoltage-limiting component is changed by expansion of the thermally expandable material relative to the position of the connection elements in a way that causes at least one pole of the overvoltage-limiting component to be out of electrically conductive contact with the corresponding connection element.

    摘要: The invention relates to a thermally controlled electrical switching device including a temperature control (1) having a snap-action switch (2) including a fixed contact (4) and a movable contact (3) connected to a metal snap-action switching spring (9), and having a bimetallic element (5) which influences the movement of the movable contact. In order to minimize the heat produced in the mechanically loaded parts (17, 18) of the snap-action switching spring (9) the switching devices limits the current through these mechanically loaded parts. These devices may include an electrically well conductive layer (30) provided on the non-mechanically loaded parts of the snap-action switching spring or a layer (31) having a high electrical resistance deposited on the mechanically loaded parts (17, 18).

    摘要: A temperature-dependent switch comprises a housing having a lower housing part and a cover part capping said lower housing part. A first countercontact is provided at an inner surface of said cover part, said first countercontact having a projection pointing into said housing. A second countercontact is provided at an inner surface of said lower housing part. Inside of said housing a temperature-dependent switching mechanism is arranged, said mechanism including an electrically conductive spring element having an opening. Dependent on the temperature said spring element assumes at least two distinct switching positions, whereby in its first switching position the spring element is in contact with both said first and second countercontacts, thereby electrically interconnecting said first and second countercontacts. At least when said spring element is in its first switching position, said projection at said first countercontact protrudes into said opening in said spring element, thereby centering the latter in the housing.

    摘要: The present invention is a cell bypass switch particularly designed for aerospace applications. The cell bypass switch can sense a battery cell failure and automatically opens an alternate path around the failed cell, bypassing the failure and allowing the remainder of the battery system to continue its function. The cell bypass switch is designed to be placed in parallel with the battery cell it protects. The present invention includes two electro-mechanical actuator assemblies which are mounted on the top end of the housing for operating two plungers respectively. Each of the electro-mechanical actuator assembly includes two spool halves which are held together by a tight winding of a restraining wire that terminates in a bridge wire connecting two electrical terminals of the electro-mechanical actuator. Each spool, by virtue of the restraining wire winding, can restrain a spring loaded plunger. However, when sufficient electrical current is passed through the terminals and the bridge wire, the bridge wire will heat up and break under the applied tension load. This causes the restraining wire to unwind, separating the spool halves and releasing the plunger.
