摘要： An element of an automatic gain control system that automatically calibrates a Composite Gain vs Ambient Noise look-up table responsive to user zone gain inputs at various ambient noise levels. The table is a graph of adjacent (horizontally or diagonally) data points (nodes) mapping ambient noise to composite gain. Three algorithmic rules determine position changes of the nodes responsive to zone gain inputs. A curve may be fit to an arrangement of adjacent nodes. The curve, or the interpolated table value, is used with an ambient noise input to determine the current composite gain. The element may be used with many traditional ANC systems. Once calibrated over the full range of ambient noises in the user's space, the ANC system may never need further user zone gain inputs.

摘要： An example playback device may store an active volume state variable in memory, where the active volume state variable corresponds to a current playback volume. The playback device may also store a volume limit state variable in memory, where the volume limit state variable corresponds to a playback volume limit of the playback device. The playback device may detect a command to begin playback of media from a given source and then select a startup playback volume to be one of the current playback volume and the playback volume limit based on the given source of the command to begin playback. The playback device may then play back media at the startup playback volume.

摘要： In one embodiment, a satellite microphone assembly for use in teleconferencing or other audio based communications comprises a base housing a microphone and volume control electronics. The base is enclosed by a cylinder, rotatable about the base and having a top surface configured to be an actuatable button to toggle a mute/unmute status of the microphone. The cylinder has a sidewall configured to be engaged by a user such that the user can rotate the cylinder. An optical sensor is supported by the base, and is configured to detect a rotation of the cylinder and to output information about a direction and a degree of rotation of the cylinder to the volume control electronics, causing a rotation of the cylinder to affect the volume level of a speaker.

Thus, the user can use the earphone set to listen to music when the knitted hat is put on the head to keep the head warm.
