Abstract: The systems and methods described herein are directed to techniques for improving battery life performance of end devices in resource monitoring systems which transmit data using low-power, wide area network (LPWAN) technologies. Further, the techniques include providing sensor interfaces in the end devices configured to communicate with multiple types of metrology sensors. Additionally, the systems and methods include techniques for reducing the size of a concentrator of a gateway device which receives resource measurement data from end devices. The reduced size of the concentrator results in smaller, more compact gateway devices that consume less energy and reduce heat dissipation experienced in gateway devices. The concentrator may comply with modular interface standards, and include two radios configured for transmitting 1-watt signals. Lastly, the systems and methods include techniques for fully redundant radio architecture within a gateway device, allowing for maximum range and minimizing downtime due to transmission overlap.

Abstract: A wideband-tunable radio frequency (RF) receiver having a tunable RF bandpass filter (RF BPF) and passive mixer-first receiver (PMF-Rx) is disclosed. The tunable RF BPF and PMF-Rx operate synergistically, exploiting the intrinsic impedance translation property of the PMF-Rx, to suppress out-of-band interferers as well as in-band interferers at the receiver front end and thereby enhance the receiver's signal-to-noise ratio and overall dynamic range. In one embodiment of the invention the tunable RF BPF and PMF-Rx are independently tunable and afford the receiver the ability to reject or suppress interferers that might not otherwise be able to be rejected or suppressed.

Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may perform, for example, a method for receiving interference information, identifying a plurality of interferers, approximating a location of the plurality of interferers, and adjusting an antenna pattern of an antenna. Abstract: Devices, systems and processes for identifying and detecting an interfering signal are described. A process may include conducting a scan of one or more frequency bands to obtain at least one scan result and determining therefrom if a response condition has been detected. If so detected, a first frequency band corresponding to the detected response condition may be identified and a response condition action to be performed determined. If no response condition action is to be performed, scanning continues. If a response condition is to be performed two or more available sensors are identified and a first sensor is selected. A scan plan is developed and then initiated by the first sensor. Data from the first sensor is received and analyzed to identify a second frequency band indicative of an interfering signal. Based on at least the scan data, a location for a signal interference source (SIS) may be estimated.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method performed by a transmitter in a first device for signaling a nonlinearity profile of distortion of transmissions in a communications network is provided. The method includes generating an amplitude tracking reference signal (ATRS), wherein the ATRS comprises information indicating a nonlinearity profile of distortions of transmissions by the transmitter, and transmitting the generated ATRS towards a second device. In another aspect, a method performed by a receiver in a second device for identifying a nonlinearity profile of distortion of transmissions in a communications network by a transmitter in a first device is provided. The method includes receiving an ATRS from the first device, wherein the ATRS comprises information indicating a nonlinearity profile of distortions of transmissions by the transmitter and identifying the nonlinearity profile of distortion of transmissions by the transmitter based on the ATRS.
