摘要: The techniques described within this disclosure are directed to an in-line adaptor or coupling device of a PON that detects incoming optical signals (e.g., of different services) being delivered over the PON on different bands of wavelengths supported by an incoming optical fiber of the PON, converts (if necessary) any optical signals to suitable wavelength signals, and transmits the converted optical signals to a last mile termination unit via suitable output interfaces. At least a portion of the incoming optical signals are not converted by the in-line adaptor, and instead are passed-through the in-line adaptor to the last mile termination unit via an optical output interface. The in-line adaptor further includes one or more wireless interfaces via which information pertaining to the received optical signals and/or other information related to the in-line adaptor is transmitted to one or more recipient devices.

摘要: If a configuration is employed in which modulation schemes used for an optical communication system can be switched depending on transmission conditions, the power consumption increases and the control becomes complex; therefore, an optical transmitter according to an exemplary aspect of the present invention includes an encoding means for encoding digital signals to be transmitted under a predetermined transmission condition over an optical carrier wave by using one of a plurality of encoding methods; an encoding control means for selecting a predetermined encoding method corresponding to the predetermined transmission condition from among the plurality of encoding methods and causing the encoding means to operate in accordance with the predetermined encoding method; a mapping means for mapping output bit signals output from the encoding means to modulation symbols; and an optical modulation means for modulating the optical carrier wave based on symbol signals output from the mapping means.

摘要: An optical millimeter wave terahertz transfer system and transfer method are disclosed. The device comprises a local terminal, a transfer link, an access terminal, and a user terminal. By using the device in the transfer link, optical signals transferred forward and backward are extracted through optical couplers, and millimeter wave terahertz signals with a stable phase are obtained at any position in the transfer link through optical signal filtering, photovoltaic conversion, microwave filtering, frequency division and optical frequency shift processing. The device and method have the characteristics of high reliability, simple structure, and low implementation cost.

A method, according to one implementation, includes receiving measured optical performance parameters of a plurality of optical channels transmitted over an optical spectrum between two network elements in an optical line system; determining a performance profile of the optical spectrum based on the measured optical performance parameters; translating the performance profile into configuration information for the two network elements; and causing provisioning of the two network elements based on the configuration information. The measured optical performance parameters are for one or more unassigned optical channels on the optical spectrum, with the measured optical performance parameters being made on one or more optical modems.

摘要: Provided is an optical link. The optical link supports duplex communication of an auxiliary channel for transmitting, between a display source and a display sink, extended display configuration data (EDID) that is related to rendering of the display sink or display port configuration data (DPCD) related to setting of a main link. The optical link is capable of preventing a data transfer error despite a transmission delay or distortion due to non-linearity between an input and an output due to movement of the optical link by setting the main link to be optimized for the optical link, which is different from a request by the display sink with respect to setting of a training pattern, in link training between the display source and the display sink. According to the optical link according to the disclosure, in one-to-multi display in which a plurality of display sinks are connected to one display source, dislocation or instability of the arrangement of a plurality of screens, which may be caused by a change in a connection state of any one display sink, may be prevented, and after the display sink returns to a normal connection state, delay of a video output for the resetting of the main link may be prevented.
