Determining the halftone screen comprises encoding a signature pattern in the halftone screen, and halftone screens for different requests may be encoded with a different signature pattern. The halftone screen may be arranged such that, when applied to image data to provide a printed output, the pattern is discernible therein to provide a signature for the printed output.

摘要: An image processing apparatus capable of preventing failure in decoding additional information embedded in a print. The apparatus performs image processing for generating a print in which additional information is embedded. A halftone pattern used for halftone processing is set out of a plurality of halftone patterns. It is determined whether or not, in a case where the set halftone pattern is used for the halftone processing, encoded patterns generated based on the additional information can be uniformly reproduced from a color plane with which the encoded patterns are synthesized. In a case where it is determined that the encoded patterns cannot be uniformly reproduced, a warning notification is performed for notifying before outputting a print in which the additional information is embedded, a user that the print is a print which can cause failure in decoding the additional information.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes: a scanning unit configured to form an electrostatic latent image on a photoconductor by scanning the photoconductor with one or more scanning beams in a main scanning direction based on an image signal, repetitively in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction; a generating unit configured to perform halftone processing on image data to generate the image signal; and a storage unit configured to store correction information. The correction information is set such that start positions of a plurality of scanning lines are linearly displaced to either a negative side or a positive side of the main scanning direction along the sub-scanning direction, in accordance with a direction of a first vector forming a smaller angle with the sub-scanning direction among two vectors in the halftone processing.

The method includes the steps of: allocating first lines of the image to the first printhead; allocating second lines of the image to the second printhead; dithering the first lines of the image using a selected first dither mask; dithering the second lines of the image using a selected second dither mask; printing the dithered first lines of the image using the first printhead; and printing the dithered second lines of the image using the second printhead. The first and second dither masks are selected based on a relative alignment of the first and second printheads.

摘要: An information loss determiner in an image processing device determines whether character collapse has occurred in a simple binarized image. If character collapse has not occurred in the simple binarized image, an image processing determiner selects simple binarization processing as the image processing method of output image data. If character collapse has occurred in the simple binarized image, the process proceeds to photograph area size determination. If the ratio of a photograph area size is less than or equal to a predetermined value, the information loss determiner determines that character collapse has occurred in a posterization processed image. If character collapse has occurred in the posterization processed image, the image processing determiner selects grayscale processing. If character collapse has not occurred in the posterization processed image, the image processing determiner selects posterization processing.
