摘要: A method, system and computer program product for enabling early collision detection and handling in Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA)-based radio-frequency identification (RFID) systems. A tag receives an instruction from a reader to reflect either a single encoded bit or multiple encoded bits. The tag then reflects either the single encoded bit or the multiple encoded bits to the reader. The reader decodes the received encoded bit(s) from the tag, where the decoded bit(s) are placed in a vector or matrix by the reader. The vector/matrix is then transmitted to the tag, which determines if the reflected bit(s) agree with the corresponding bit(s) in the vector/matrix thereby indicating whether the reflected bit(s) were read successfully by the reader. The tag will then enter a no reflection mode in response to a disagreement between the reflected bit(s) with the corresponding bit(s) in the vector/matrix thereby preventing collisions from occurring.

摘要: The present disclosure provides methods for screening subjects at a subordinate location within a geographic region, or a subordinate space within the subordinate location for an infectious agent. Such methods may comprise assigning a risk score to each of the one or more subordinate locations or subordinate spaces based on an amount of infectious agent in pooled environmental samples and pooled biological samples in a subordinate location or subordinate space as compared to each other subordinate location or subordinate space, and then screening biological samples from subordinate locations or subordinate spaces that have a higher risk score before screening biological samples from subordinate locations or subordinate spaces that have a lower risk score. Methods for determining a risk of a viral infection in one or more geographic regions are also provided.

摘要: A multi-mode, preferably dual mode, radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is adapted for automatic detection of whether a RFID reader located within communication range of the RFID tag is transmitting a continuous wave (CW) or modulated wave types of RF signal, and accordingly, mandating a response from the tag in read-only (RO) mode or read/write (R/W) mode, respectively. The tag includes means for designating one of the RO and R/W operating modes as a default mode of the tag, and for switching the tag from its default mode to its other operating mode, and vice versa, according to a rule for determining the frequency of occurrence of a selected event related to signal type of the reader. A device-implemented method of this automatic detection, and a method of fabricating the tag, are also disclosed.
