    摘要: Methods and apparatus for using beacon signals are described. One or more sectorized base stations are used in some embodiments to transmit beacon signals into zones, e.g., each zone being at least partially covered by one or more beacon signals. Use of sectorized base stations allows a single base station, e.g., a Bluetooth or other base station capable of transmitting beacon signals, to cover a number of different zones avoiding the need for multiple different beacon transmitters at different locations to establish different beacon coverage areas. Sectorization of a Bluetooth base station and the ability to remotely or locally configure the base station allows for great flexibility to use beacon signals in stores or other locations without the need for numerous individual battery powered beacon transmitters at floor or display level.

    摘要: A self-organizing network switching matrix is provided. The self-organizing network switching matrix can receive a first set of communications data from a set of base transceiver stations wherein the communications data includes a radio simulcast. It can send the first set of communications data to a subset of remote transceiver units in a set of remote transceiver units. A second set of communications data can be received from the first subset of remote transceiver units. A set of network activity data can be generated based on monitoring the receiving of the second set of communications data from the first subset of remote transceiver units for a defined network activity. The subset of remote transceiver units can be adjusted based on the network activity data. In this regard, the self-organizing network switching matrix facilitates automated capacity management providing just in time network dimensioning.

The method includes: creating or updating, by a first device, a network slice instance; sending, by the first device, a first message to a second device, where the first message carries first network slice instance information, the first network slice instance information is first information about the created or updated network slice instance, and the first network slice instance information includes an identifier of the network slice instance; and storing or configuring, by the second device, the first network slice instance information. In the solutions, after creating or updating the network slice instance, the first device may send the information about the created or updated network slice instance to the second device, and the second device may store or configure the information, so as to avoid allocating an improper network slice instance to a terminal.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for selecting the best beam in a wireless communication system are provided. An operation of a Base Station (BS) includes repeatedly transmitting reference signals beamformed with a first width, receiving a feedback signal indicating at least one preferred-beam having the first width from at least one terminal, determining a direction range within which reference signals beamformed with a second width are to be transmitted and a transmission pattern, based on the at least one preferred-beam having the first width, repeatedly transmitting the reference signals beamformed with the second width within the determined direction range according to the transmission pattern, and receiving a feedback signal indicating at least one preferred-beam having the second width from the at least one terminal.
