    摘要: An apparatus and method for actively managing the current provided to an X-ray filament is provided. A feedback measurement of the actual filament current supplied to an X-ray filament is provided into a current manager and feedback system. An error amplifier compares the feedback measurement to a filament reference command indicating the appropriate current amount to be supplied to the X-ray filament, and the output of the error amplifier runs a pulse width modulator to provide a signal to an inverter to supply a voltage to the X-ray filament transformer. When a comparator senses sufficient high voltage is supplied to the X-ray tube, a second error amplifier is allowed to add to the filament current command an amount sufficient to make the X-ray tube's emission current match the commanded emission current. Additional circuitry and electronic switches are provided to allow the apparatus to operate in a dual-filament system.

The tube amplifier system also including a shorting deck that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis. The shorting deck is electrically coupled to the conductor walls. The tube amplifier system also includes a movable tray assembly having a grounding deck that extends parallel to the shorting deck. The grounding deck and the shorting deck define an output cavity therebetween that has a length. The movable tray assembly is removably mounted to at least one of the conductor walls such that the grounding deck is capable of being positioned at multiple different levels along the longitudinal axis to change the length of the output cavity.

    摘要: There is provided an X-ray diffraction apparatus configured to irradiate a sample S on a sample stage with X-rays generated from an X-ray source and detect the X-rays diffracted by a sample using a detector, including a virtual mask setting section and a signal processing section. The detector outputs detection signals according to intensity of the X-rays received by detection elements, for each of the plurality of detection elements forming a detection surface. The virtual mask setting section is capable of setting a virtual mask on the detection surface of the detector, and setting at least an opening dimension of the virtual mask as an opening condition of the virtual mask independently in an X direction and a Y direction. The signal processing section processes the detection signals outputted from the detector according to the opening condition of the virtual mask set in the virtual mask setting section.

    摘要: Apparatus and systems may operate to enable positron emission imaging with a unitary chamber body having an open end that defines a hollow interior portion shaped to completely contain a flexible sleeve that is used to cover a core sample when the sleeve is seated within the hollow interior portion. An end cap may be formed to engage the open end of the chamber body, which is configured to attenuate gamma rays approximately eight times less than stainless steel, while supporting a pressure differential of at least 3 MPa between the chamber inlet and the outlet when fluid carrying a radioactive tag to generate the gamma rays flows through the hollow interior portion and the core sample via the inlet and the outlet. Additional apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

    摘要: A thermal shield for an XRF measurement tool is formed from a heat shield and a heat shield cowling. These components protect the X-ray head assembly that includes the x-ray generation and detection columns and the head control electronics, communications and cooling systems. The heat shield is directly below the X-ray head, parallel to the x-ray head plane and plane of the PV substrate, and perpendicular to the primary beam output from the x-ray head. The heat shield is fabricated of machined copper with several ports machined through the shield. These ports provide a path for primary beam x-rays through the heat shield and for the return of fluoresced X-rays from the PV substrate back to the detector in the X-ray head, while preventing damage to the X-ray head due to the heat emitted from the PV substrate.
