Abstract: A recombinant BHV-1 oncolytic virus is provided comprising a BHV-1 mutant with enhanced cancer selectivity and/or enhance immunostimulatory activity as compared to wildtype BHV-1. The BHV-1 mutant is genetically modified to express one or more immunomodulatory molecules that induce an anti-tumor immune response. A method of generating the recombinant BHV-1 oncolytic virus is also provided.
