Abstract: An isolated alicyclic di-ammonium di-carboxylate salt of an alicyclic di-amine and a carboxylic acidis disclosed. The carboxylic acidis selected from the group consisting of formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid, whereas the alicyclic di-aminemay be selected from the group consisting of diaminocyclohexane, bis(aminomethyl)cyclohexane, bis(aminomethyl)norbornane, 1,3-diaminoadamantane, -amino-1,3,3-trimethylcyclohexanemethylamine,methylenebis(cyclohexylamine), diaminodecalin, and 1,4-diaminocubane.
