Abstract: In vat polymerization printer, light is projected from a digital light processing (DLP) light source towards an opening in a tank containing photo-curable liquid resin. A mask is used to filter the light from the DLP light source, the mask having pixels configurable to be individually transparent or opaque to portions of the light from the DLP light source. In a build area of the tank, the filtered light is used to cure the photo-curable liquid resin so as to form a layer of a partially formed object. The operation of the DLP light source is synchronized with the operation of the mask, such that light from the DLP light source with high intensity is transmitted through the transparent pixels of mask and light from DLP light source with low intensity is blocked by the opaque pixels of mask. The mask may enhance the resolution of DLP light source.

Abstract: A disambiguation dialog may be generated by determining candidate responses based on an intent of a user's message. A utility value and a relevance probability may be determined for each of the candidate responses. An intermediate ranking may be computed for each of the candidate responses based on the utility value and the relevance probability. Candidate dialogs may be formed with the top candidate response, the top two candidate responses, and so on. Additional candidate dialogs may be generated by varying a presentation format of the candidate responses. Discoverability probabilities may be associated with each of the candidate responses within a candidate dialog. A joint metric for each candidate dialog may be computed as a function of the utility value, relevance probability and discoverability probability associated with each of the candidate responses included in the candidate dialog. The highest ranked candidate dialog may be selected as the disambiguation dialog.

Abstract: A vat polymerization apparatus configured with a resin circulatory system that includes pumps (104,106) arranged to extract used photo-curing resin from a tank (102) and refresh or replace it with new resin, another fluid, or a combination of new resin and the fluid. Resin flow is regulated using a plurality of valves (113,114,116,118) which are opened and closed to achieve a desired circulation process. Additional aspects of the apparatus include a membrane assembly in which a radiation-transparent flexible membrane is supported in a frame that stretches the membrane. A lip of the frame is secured to a bottom rim of the tank; thus, when the membrane assembly is in place it forms a bottom of the tank. A tension adjustment mechanism may be employed to adjust the tension of the membrane within the frame. The frame may be aligned with the tank with the aid of magnetized alignment aids distributed about the frame.

Abstract: A 3D printing apparatus includes a tank (20) holding a photo-curing liquid polymer. A transparent membrane (22) forms a bottom surface of the tank. A circular-shaped disk (30) is disposed below the membrane, and is supported by a frame (40) that has a radiation-transparent printing window. The liquid polymer (82) is cured into desired shapes by exposure to radiation (52) as the membrane is rotated about an axis. The rotation of the membrane causes a first region thereof to be rotated out of the printing window and a second region thereof to be rotated into the printing window. A light source (50) projects the radiation through the printing window, through the second region of the membrane, into the photo-curing liquid polymer and onto a focal plane in the photo-curing liquid polymer, thereby curing a portion of the photo-curing liquid polymer.

Abstract: A nanowire transistor includes undoped source and drain regions electrically coupled with an undoped channel region. A source stack that is electrically isolated from a gate conductor includes an interfacial layer (I-layer) and a source conductor (source contact), and is coaxially wrapped completely around the source region, extending along at least a portion of the source region. The Schottky barrier between the source conductor and the source region is negative, resulting in a concentration of free charge carriers being induced in the undoped semiconductor source region. The interfacial layer between the undoped source region and the source conductor ensures the negative Schottky barrier and the transistor may comprise a drain stack similar to the source stack.
