Abstract: An equipment management system (10) provides an equipment support (16) for supporting patient care equipment. The equipment support (16) may be mountable on an arm (20) that extends from a wall, on a column depending from the arm (20), on a wall mount (22), on a stand (18), or on a patient support (12). Various methods may be used to vertically move the equipment support (16) up and down to engage and disengage the equipment support (16) from supporting devices.

Abstract: A holster is provided with a clip portion for clipping to a user's belt or other suitable location and a harness portion for holding an electronic device, such as, but not limited to, a medical infusion pump. The holster may include a rotation mechanism that allows the holster to be rotated in a manner, to position and maintain the electronic device in any one of a plurality of selectable rotational orientations, while the holster is clipped to the user's belt. Alternatively or in addition, the clip portion is pivotally connected by a hinge to the harness portion, to allow the harness portion to pivot upward relative to the clip portion. The pivotal connection of the clip portion to the harness portion allows the user pivot the harness portion (and, thus, a medical device received in the harness portion) upward, for example, to better accommodate the user's view or access to displays, indicators, compartments, buttons or other manual operators on the medical device.

Abstract: A rectangular thin plate (12) with planar top and bottom surfaces has several differently configured aperture arrangements for carrying medical tools, such as needle/syringe/gap assemblies, latex injection ports for an intravenous process, such as Y-ports, and an intravenous tube connection carrying flashbulbs and/or stopcoks. A series of circular openings (14, 16, 18, 20) are located in the interior portion of the plate for supporting the needle/syringe/cap assemblies, and a series of neighboring slot-hole arrangements (48, 50, 52, 54) around the periphery of the plate supporting the tubing of the Y-ports, with opposing slot-hole arrangements supporting a tube connection which may consist of stopcock (100, 102) and/or flashbulbs (104, 106). A clamping device (118) may be used to attach the plate angularly to an I.V. pole, or optionally, the plate may be secured between the operating table and the mattress in a horizontal fashion.

Abstract: A label (10) for identifying contents of intravenous feeding bottles (50) has formed as an integral part thereof a hanging ring (30) for suspending the bottle (50) from an intravenous stand (58). The label is built up from at least one layer of film (14 and 28), a layer of printing ink (22 and 24), and a layer of adhesive (18 and 26). The hanging ring (30) is defined in the label (10) by a pair of die cut lines (32, 34) that penetrate at least the one layer of film (28) in the label. A release coating (36) is applied between the layer of film (28) and the bottle (50) in a portion of the label defined by the hanging ring (30) to permit the hanging ring to be peeled away from the bottle and the remaining portion of the label.
