Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automatic charge magazine (1) for storage and handling of propellent powder charges of the modular charges and/or powder bag charges type, also termed increment charges (4), for projectiles, for example shells, which are arranged in a fireable manner, together with the increment charges (4), in an artillery gun, preferably of the vehicle- mounted artillery gun type, wherein the charge magazine (1) comprises a plurality of charge containers (5, 5', 5'') arranged in a drivable revolving track, which charge containers (5, 5', 5' ' ) are arranged to assume feed-in and feed-out positions (2, 11) for the feed-in and feed-out of at least one increment charge (4) to and from the charge containers (5, 5', 5''). The invention can principally be deemed to be characterized in that the charge magazine (1) also comprises at least one ejection member (15, 31, 32, 33, 34), which ejection member, in response to control signals (i2) from the said control unit (22), ejects one or more increment charges (4) from the respective charge container (5, 5', 5'')/ applied in the feed-out position, to a loading tray (18) belonging to the gun.
Abstract:
A method for configuration management of a fleet of deployed equipment units, each unit being provided with an on-board data processing module and a data storage module in a local service platform system being communicatively coupled to a central service platform system, comprising the steps of: generating, in a local service platform system associated with an equipment unit, condition based operational status data; generating in said local service platform system operational data comprising said condition based operational status data; generating by means of a local configuration manager software a definition of the configuration of components; storing said configuration definition in said local service platform system; communicating the configuration definition to said central service platform system; and analyzing configuration definitions for said fleet of equipment units dependent on said operational data generated in the local platform system of the respective equipment units and communicated to the central service platform system.
Abstract:
A service platform method and system for enabling readiness and sustainability services for a fleet of deployed and fielded equipment units, comprising generating condition based operational status data dependent on equipment status data and dependent on predetermined relations between said equipment status data and predetermined weighting parameters; providing said condition based operational status data for use by on-board functions and central functions. The service platform enables a support system for condition base maintenance of a fleet of equipment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a shell (1) for firing from a gun barrel, which shell (1) comprises a shell body (2), comprising a front shell body part (3) and a rear shell body part (4), and a girdle (7), mutually joined together. The object of the invention is a shell (1) designed such that it is quicker and easier to assemble/disassemble the shell (1) when the explosive charges of the shell (1) need to be exchanged, or when the shell (1) has to be destroyed and/or recovered. The invention is characterized in that the girdle (7) of the shell (1) constitutes a binding element (7) for the shell body parts (3, 4) and in that the shell body parts (3, 4) are joined together with the girdle (7).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a barrel (10) for a launching device (1) for launching projectiles (100) with a propellant charge (110) where the barrel (10) is arranged with a cross-section (20) in the form of a curve of constant width. The invention further consists of a launching device and a method for firing a rotation-stabilized projectile from a barrel.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for producing a warhead component comprised of an inner shell, characterized in that the method comprises the following steps: i.) a first casing of a thermoplastic is arranged to enclose the inner shell, ii.) pre-formed projectiles are arranged between the first casing of thermoplastic and the inner shell, iii.) the first casing is heat-treated so that the first casing shrinks and fixes the pre-formed projectiles to the inner shell. The invention further relates to a warhead, to a projectile, and to a bomb.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for producing a component for a warhead, wherein the method involves the steps: i.) an inner shell is arranged on a tool, ii.) preshaped projectiles are arranged on the inner shell, iii.) powder is arranged to enclose the preshaped projectiles, iv.) the powder is pressed such that the powder, the preshaped projectiles, and the inner shell are joined together, v.) the tool is removed from the component formed from the powder, the preshaped projectiles, and the inner shell. The invention further relates to a warhead and a projectile.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a fire control method against aerial targets flying toward a protection object when the position of the protection object is known, the following method steps being included: measure the position of the aerial target, estimate the position of the aerial target, estimate the velocity of the aerial target, predict the future path of the aerial target from the estimated position of the aerial target and the estimated velocity of the aerial target, decide, on the basis of the predicted path, whether the aerial target i.) is incoming and thus a threat against the protection object, ii.) is passing by and thus not a threat to the protection object.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a payload container (10) for providing a horizontal dispersion pattern of sub-projectiles (1, 1´) suitable for combatting surface targets. The container (10) is in the form of a cylinder and comprises at least two sub-projectiles (1) 5 arranged in a core (3) enclosed by a container wall (2), wherein the sub-projectiles (1) are linearly disposed. The invention also provides a projectile (50) and use of the same comprising at least one payload container (10) or a plurality of sequentially arranged payload containers (10). The displacement is predetermined in such way so that the sub-projectiles (1, 1´) are vertically lined at the time 0 when the mechanical force from the carrier shell disappears and the sub-projectiles (1, 1´) are spread to the left and to the right, providing a horizontal dispersion pattern
Abstract:
