Abstract:
An inductive power receiver including a dual purpose inductor wired to an electric load, the dual purpose inductor is configured to inductively couple with a primary inductor wired to a power supply. The dual purpose inductor typically comprises a radio antenna such as a near field communication antenna. A method is described for charging electromagnetic cells via the inductive power receiver.
Abstract:
A display device comprising an array of encapsulated pixels. The encapsulating pixel includes an optical element which is altered from a first optical state to a second optical state upon when a potential difference is generated across it. The optical element is in contact with two electrodes which are connected to a pixel driver for generating the potential difference. The encapsulated pixel is hermetically sealed from the environment by a sealing layer and the driver receives power wirelessly via an inductive power transmission system.
Abstract:
A pin-less power coupling arrangement comprising at least one pin-less power jack; the power jack comprising a primary coil shielded behind an insulating layer for inductive coupling to a pin-less power plug; said power plug comprising a secondary coil wherein said insulating layer is substantially flat and said power plug and said power jack may be aligned by an alignment means. Various such alignment means are discussed as are enabled surfaces for supporting inductive power jacks and inductive plugs coupled to various appliances.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for efficient power regulation of a power transmission element having a power input and a power output. An output monitor is configured to monitor at least one system parameter and an input controller is configured to control the power input. A feedback mechanism may be provided to send feedback signals relating to the at least one system parameter to the input controller. The input controller may adjust the power input of the power transmission element to control voltage drop across the power transmission element and control temperature and heat loss from the system.
Abstract:
An inductive power receiver is presented for providing a regulated power output to an electric load. The receiver inductively couples with an inductive power transmitter to form an inductive transfer system. A receiver-side regulator is provided to regulate the output voltage of the inductive transfer system. The regulator has a resonance-altering component and a switching unit configured to selectively connect the resonance-altering component to the reception circuit such that the amplitude of the induced voltage is controlled.
Abstract:
An inductively enabled power pack charging system and method includes an integrated circuit for controlling inductive transfer of power to the power pack and managing communication with an external power source. The system may further include an electrochemical cell for storing energy received from the external power supply and magnetic shielding material for guiding magnetic flux away from the electrochemical cell.
Abstract:
A power providing system for an electrical device comprising: a secondary inductor, wired to the electrical device, for inductively coupling with a primary inductor hardwired to a power supply. The secondary inductor is incorporated into an accessory of said electrical device.
Abstract:
A system, for providing power to a workspace by induction, comprises at least one inductive power outlet incorporated into a bounding surface of the workspace. The inductive power outlet comprises at least one primary inductor connectable to a power supply via a driver. The driver provides an oscillating voltage supply to the primary inductor and the primary inductor may inductively couple with a secondary inductor wired to an electric load.
