Abstract:
A garment and method of producing an absorbent article includes an absorbent section. The absorbent section includes a front and rear portion. A waist belt is attached to the absorbent section. The waist belt includes first and second belt portions extending on each side of the rear portion of the absorbent section for securing to each other around a wearer of the garment. The front portion of the absorbent section includes a fastening device for securing the front portion of the absorbent section to the waist belt. To better aid the wearer or caregiver on how to put the product on the user, instructions are provided directly on the garment which describe how the garment should be applied.
Abstract:
A simple disposable absorbent article including a chassis and an absorbent assembly. The chassis includes laterally opposing side flaps formed by laterally inwardly disposed portions of the chassis and deployable belt ears. Each belt ear is held laterally inwardly disposed until being released and deployed laterally outward so as to project laterally outward beyond the adjacent side flap. Fastening elements may be disposed on at least two of the belt ears, the fastening elements being adapted for fastening portions of the article together to encircle a waist and legs of a wearer. The chassis may be extensible. The absorbent assembly may be attached in a cruciform pattern to the chassis to allow portions of the chassis underlying the absorbent assembly and lying outside the cruciform attachment pattern to extend laterally.
Abstract:
A strap member is disclosed for use in securing a garment to a wearer. The strap member includes a looped portion and a non-looped portion. A first attachment is present for removeably attaching the non-looped portion to the garment and a second attachment is present for attaching the looped portion to the garment. The strap member also has an adjustment mechanism located at a point where the looped portion joins the non-looped portion. The adjustment mechanism allows the strap member to be adjusted in length. Lastly, the strap member includes an attachment mechanism located on said non-looped portion which allows the strap member to be opened and closed.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method for detecting when an absorbent article is unfastened or alternatively, completely removed from the body of the wearer, and when so is the case, conveying an alarm signal. The invention is intended to be used in parallel with a method for detecting wetness in the absorbent article and further relates to an integrated detection-and-alarm method for detecting unfastening and/or wetness in an absorbent article. The invention further relates to a system for detecting when an absorbent article is unfastened or removed from the body of the wearer and/or when said article is wet, and when so, conveying an alarm signal. Said system comprises (a) an absorbent article comprising at least one absorbent layer, the object to be displaced, such as a fastening system, one or more sensing devices, one or more excitation devices, and (b) a remote receiver. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of said system in the care of children and adults suffering from incontinence and/or psychological illnesses, such as dementia.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent article includes a chassis and an absorbent assembly and is adapted to be configured as a loincloth diaper for use in combination with a support element that is worn around the waist of the wearer. The chassis has fastening elements for use in forming laterally extending tunnels adjacent to the waist edges through which the support element extends. The chassis includes a water-impermeable backsheet that may be folded laterally inward at both of its side edges to form opposing side flaps. Each side flap is attached to the interior surface of the chassis adjacent to its end edges. Each side flap has a longitudinally extending elastic gathering member attached adjacent to its proximal edge. The chassis may include an extensible formed web material. The absorbent assembly may be attached in a cruciform pattern to the chassis to allow unattached portions of the chassis to extend laterally.
Abstract:
A single-use absorbent article, with the article exhibiting a continuous elastic belt (45). The belt (45) alone or the belt (45) together with the rear or front end portion (21, 22) of the absorbent part forms a continuous waist part (27). The continuous waist part (27) includes means (26) of separating the same.
Abstract:
A waist belt used for supporting a disposable absorbent assembly is disclosed. The belt comprises a central segment positioned along the longitudinal centerline of the belt, at least two intermediate segments transversely outwardly extending from the central segment, and at least two distal segments transversely outwardly extending from an intermediate segment. Each intermediate segment covers a side hip of the wearer when the belt is worn. The longitudinal length of each intermediate segment is greater than that of the central segment, and greater than that of each distal segment. The belt further comprises a fastener element positioned on at least one of the distal segments for releasably securing the belt around the waist of the wearer, and an attachment surface formed at least on each intermediate segment for releasably attaching the disposable assembly to the belt. An absorbent article comprising such a belt is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Absorbent article such as a diaper and an incontinence guard provided with a pair of belt members (10a, b) intented to be fastened together around the waist of the wearer by fastening means (11, 12) and where said front portion (5), is provided with fastening means (8, 9) intended to be fastened to the belt members (10a, b), in such a way that the article will assume a pantlike shape, where the belt members (10a, b) form a part of the waist portions of the pant. The belt members (10a, b) comprise a flexible laminate of at least three layers, a first outer layer (14), a middle layer (16) and a second outer layer (15) of fibrous material bonded together in a bonding pattern (13) provided by ultrasonic, laser and/or heat, said bonding pattern (13) having a bonding area of no more than 10 %. The first outer layer (14) and said middle layer (16) have a creped structure of a plurality of raised areas (14a; 16a) separated by a plurality of non-raised areas formed by the bonding sites (13) of said bonding pattern, wherein the creped structure of the first outer layer (14) is more distinct with a greater height of said raised areas (14a) as compared to the middle layer (16).
Abstract:
