Abstract:
A method comprising: selecting, at a user equipment, one of a first network supporting a first radio access technology and a second network supporting a second radio access technology, wherein said selection is dependent on network selection information provided by one of the first and second networks and access class information associated with said user equipment.
Abstract:
A User Equipment comprising • at least one processor, • and • at least one memory for storing instructions to be executed by the processor, wherein • the at least one memory and the instructions are configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the User Equipment at least: • to conduct a processing for deciding whether or not it is acceptable to divert at least a part of a communication traffic of a communication currently conducted by the User Equipment with a first communication network to a second communication network, • in case the decision is that it is not acceptable, to prepare a report indicating that the diversion of the communication traffic to the second communication network is not conducted, and • to cause a transmission of the report to the first communication network.
Abstract:
Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to resource selections of random access procedure. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, when a random access procedure is triggered for a certain feature combination, the terminal device determines the random access channel (RACH) partition to use based on a defined priority order of (RACH-partition) features whenever a RACH partition that would have matched the feature combination for which the RA procedure is triggered is not provided in the cell. The priority order could be pre-defined in the standards, provided by the Mobile Network Operators (MNO), or signaled dynamically by the network via system information or dedicated signaling (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) or medium access control (MAC) signaling). In this way, better resource selections may be achieved. Moreover, it does not need to configure resources for any possible combinations of features.
Abstract:
Various example embodiments relate to methods and apparatus that support beam management in a small data transmission procedure. A terminal device may comprise at least one processor and at least one memory. The at least one memory includes computer program code stored thereon. The at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the terminal device to report one or more available beams in a small data transmission procedure, receive a beam switching command to switch a serving beam for the small data transmission procedure, and switch the serving beam for the small data transmission procedure to a target beam indicated in the beam switching command.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods for paging. An example method may include evaluating a transmission power related to uplink data transmission, and determining whether to initiate a small data transmission procedure for the uplink data transmission based on at least one criterion related to a transmission power to be used for the uplink data transmission and the evaluated transmission power. Related apparatuses and computer readable media are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Mechanism on configured grant transmissions is provided. If a small data transmission is needed, a first device determines whether a timing advance is valid in a subsequent CG occasion for the small data transmission. The first device also determines whether an evaluation of a validity condition is applicable in the subsequent CG occasion for the small data transmission. If the timing advance is valid and the evaluation is applicable, the first device performs the small data transmission in the subsequent CG occasion. In this way, the first device is able to perform the evaluation of the validity condition in advance, thereby reducing delays and avoiding failures.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to selective RACH overload control. The first device transmits a random access preamble to a second device. Then the first device receives a response message from the second device. The response message includes first information related to a backoff of a random access procedure for at least one device type or at least one access attempt type. The first device determines a first backoff value of the random access procedure for the first device based on the response message and performs the random access procedure based on the first backoff value. This solution allows indicating backoff for a specific device type (e.g., a REDCAP UE) or access attempt type (e.g., SDT), while conventional/normal devices (e.g., non-REDCAP UEs) or access attempt type (e.g., non-SDT) may not perform backoff (or perform backoff with a conventional solution).
Abstract:
In accordance with example embodiment of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform at least perform receiving, by a user equipment, from one or more network nodes one or more extended discontinuous reception configurations. There is based on the receiving, determining by the user equipment to apply an extended discontinuous reception or discontinuous reception, wherein the determining is based on at least one of a radio resource control state of the user equipment or extended discontinuous reception allowance information received from a network node. Also to perform
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for dynamic adjustment of paging subgroup. An example apparatus may include at least one processor and at least one memory. The at least one memory may include computer program code, and the at least one memory and the computer program code may be configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to perform monitoring at least one of paging information and paging activity according to a first paging subgroup, changing from the first paging subgroup to a second paging subgroup based at least in part on the monitored paging activity, and monitoring at least one of paging information and paging activity according to the second paging subgroup.
Abstract:
There is provided an apparatus, said apparatus comprising means for monitoring a physical downlink control channel using a first monitoring pattern, determining, based on a condition, to monitor the physical downlink control channel using a second monitoring pattern, determining occurrence of at least one event related to transmission from the user equipment, determining whether to monitor the physical downlink control channel using the first monitoring pattern or the second monitoring pattern based on the occurrence of the at least one event and monitoring the physical downlink control channel using the first monitoring pattern or the second monitoring pattern based on the determination.
