Abstract:
An apparatus, a method and a computer program product for seamless transition between WiFi networks (including in particular WiFi Internet networks) includes within a mobile communication apparatus a mobility layer that is tunneled to a mobility server within a network infrastructure. The mobile communications apparatus includes a wireless network capability, a global positioning system capability, an internal network protocol address and a routing capability. The apparatus, the method and the computer program product also provide that the mobility layer is programmed to sequentially and automatically tunnel to the mobility server at an available geographically defined WiFi network access location predicated upon a global positioning system determined position of the mobile communication apparatus. Embodiments also provide seamless transitions between WiFi networks and cellular networks.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing multiple connections or interfaces at the same time may be disclosed herein. For example, in an embodiment, a first RRC connection may be established between a wireless transmit and receive unit (WTRU) or user equipment (UE) and network node such as an eNB and a second RRC connection may be established between the WTRU or UE and the network node such as the eNB or another network node such as another eNB. The first RRC connection and the second RRC connections may then be maintained in parallel (e.g. at the same time).
Abstract:
Systems, methods and apparatus for quality of service (QoS) flows in a communication system are provided. In one aspect a method is providing for establishing a QoS flow for an application in a user equipment device. The method includes receiving QoS information from one of an application and a network. The method further includes establishing a QoS communication flow for the application based on the received information. The method also includes receiving QoS information from the other of the application and the network and modifying the established QoS communication flow based on the additional information.
Abstract:
In response to an ACTIVATE PACKET DATA PROTOCOL (PDP) CONTEXT REQUEST message from a host, including a global reachability request option that requests a global IP address and a global port to be allocated to the host, a serving gateway transmits a CREATE PDP CONTEXT REQUEST message to an Internet gateway device. The CREATE PDP CON TEXT REQUEST message includes the global reachability request option. In response to a CREATE PDP CONTEXT RESPONSE message from the Internet gateway, where the CREATE PDP CONTEXT RESPONSE message includes a global reachability response option specifying therein a global IP address and a global port allocated to the host, the serving gateway transmits an ACTIVATE PDP CONTEXT ACCEPT message to the host, where the ACTIVATE PDP CONTEXT ACCEPT message includes the global reachability response option. As a result, the host does not need to establish a separate connection session to the Internet gateway device to acquire the same.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a method, a serving node and a mobility node for relocating the mobility anchor for a mobile terminal 215a in a wireless communication system 200. The relocation comprises a request for redirecting a first bearer B-old for the mobile terminal 215a between the serving node 212b and a first mobility anchor 214a so as to create a new substantially identical second bearer B-new between the serving node 212b and a second mobility anchor 214b. In addition, the relocation comprises a transmission of a request to the first mobility anchor 214a for deleting the first bearer B-old and a transmission of a request to the second mobility anchor 214b for establishing the second bearer B-new.
