    Abstract: An Ethernet data transmission method and a physical layer transmission apparatus based on a broadcast TV network, wherein the method comprising: determining the data transmission speed according to the width of the bidirectional frequency spectrum obligated by the broadcast TV network beforehand, and setting the work speed of sending and receiving of the physical layer transmission apparatus according to the adjusted data transmission speed such that match the work speed and the data transmission speed; after the data having the transmission speed are received and dispatched by the physical layer transmission apparatus, performing the speed match of the data according to the MAC layer interface speed; after the speed match has been completed, the MAC layer interface receives and dispatches the data. The physical layer transmission apparatus comprising: a sending unit (12), a receiving unit (14) and a variable-speed control unit (11), which are used to set the work speed of the physical layer transmission apparatus according to the data transmission speed. By the method and the apparatus, it is possible to perform the Ethernet transmission on the broadcast TV network using the obligated bandwidth of the broadcast TV network sufficiently, and to improve the transmission speed of the Ethernet on the broadcast TV network.

    Abstract: An ethernet access device and method thereof are disclosed. The device includes at least two downward physical port units, multiplex/de-multiplex unit and upward physical port unit. The downward physical port unit is used for the convert between the low speed physical layer signals input/output of the access device and the low speed physical layer load carried on the signals. The upward physical port unit is used for the convert between the high speed physical layer signals input/output of the access device and the high speed physical layer load carried on the signals. The multiplex/de-multiplex unit is used for multiplexing and de-multiplexing between the low speed physical layer load of the downward physical port unit and the high-speed physical layer load of the upward physical port unit. The invention provides a networking scheme of the ethernet broadband access system by combining the multiplex technique and the ethernet technique, and with the invention, it could reduce the cost of the broadband access greatly, simplify the network structural frame, and provide a high speed and reliable access rate.
