Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention include a User Plane Core Network entity such as UPGW, capable of interfacing with at least one RAN node via a User Plane interface such as NG3 interface, said User Plane Core Network entity configured to: - support data transfer for a UE session in a mode referred to as connectionless mode not requiring setup of a connection with a RAN node for said data transfer, - support paging request over User Plane, for DL data transfer for said UE session in connectionless mode.
Abstract:
Method, apparatuses, and computer program products provide means for indicating and evaluating EPS network applicability of 5GS UE Route Selection Policy parameters. An example method for evaluation of applicability of parameters includes receiving a policy rule data object comprising a plurality of rule descriptors each comprising parameters associated with respective network applicability indications. The method further includes, upon entering a rule evaluation state: determining whether a rule descriptor satisfies first conditions from the respective network applicability indications associated with the parameters of the rule descriptor, and in an instance in which the rule descriptor is determined to satisfy the first conditions, identifying a respective parameter of the rule descriptor as satisfying second conditions from an associated respective network applicability indication. The method further includes causing a network connection to be established using rule descriptors determined to satisfy the first conditions and parameters thereof identified to satisfy the second conditions.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of user plane forwarding between UPF and AF. The method comprises receiving, a request associated with an IEEE signaling exchange between a second apparatus and a third apparatus; generating, based on the request, configuration information for establishing an exchange path for an IEEE signaling between the second apparatus and the third apparatus and transmitting the configuration information to the third apparatus. In this way, forwarding of the IEEE messages between the UPF and the AF is realized and new capabilities for corresponding function entity can be introduced.
Abstract:
Methods, computer program products, and apparatuses are provided for enabling a user equipment (UE) to connect to the wireless access network that support non-seamless wireless local area network (WLAN) offload (NSWO), such as using the UE's fifth generation (5G) credentials. An apparatus may include a processor and a memory storing computer program code configured to cause the apparatus to request, by the UE, a wireless connection to a network entity; receive, by the UE, from the network entity, an identity request; and in response to the identity request, cause transmission, by the UE, an identity response including a UE identifier to the network entity such that the UE is configured to establish a security context with the network entity upon successful authentication using the UE identifier.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for pushing of packet flow descriptions (e.g., in 5G core) based on provisioned and/or configured attributes are provided.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and software of directly connecting a SIM-less device with a cellular network. In one embodiment, User Equipment (UE) includes a Subscriber Identity Module 5 (SIM) provisioned with a plurality of subscription profiles for subscriptions to the cellular network. The UE establishes a direct communication with a SIM-less device that does not have a subscription with the cellular network. The UE selects one of the subscriptions provisioned in the SIM as a temporary subscription assigned to the SIM-less device to allow the SIM-less device to establish a direct connection with the cellular network using the 10 temporary subscription, and transmits a message to the SIM-less device via the direct communication containing subscription credentials for the temporary subscription. The SIM-less device may therefore register with the cellular network using the subscription credentials provided by the UE, and establish a direct connection with the cellular network using the temporary subscription.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for supporting the identification and selection of multiple network slices for remote user equipment. In the context of a method, the method includes receiving a first request from a remote user device, the request comprising a network identifier and requested slice information. The method also includes, based at least on the network identifier and the requested slice information, obtaining a slice identifier set comprising at least one slice identifier, and causing transmission of the slice identifier set to the remote user device for use in a session.
Abstract:
It is provided a method comprising: inquiring a repository function to provide identifications of all producers registered in the repository function and satisfying a query condition; receiving or obtaining the identifications of all the producers registered in the repository function and satisfying the query condition upon the inquiring; requesting, using the received or obtained identifications, each of the producers to provide a service.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a network apparatus that is caused to receive analytics data from a first network apparatus, determine that said analytics data is usable by a second network apparatus, and send said analytics data to the second network apparatus in dependence on said determining.
Abstract:
In some embodiments, there is provided an apparatus comprising at least one processor; and at least one memory including computer program code, the at least one memory and the computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus to at least: receive, from a user equipment, a request to join a multicast, broadcast service; and send, in order to process the request, information in a request message to an access network node, the information including an identifier of the multicast, broadcast service, an identifier of a user equipment context and/or a session identifier corresponding to the user equipment served by the access network node, a source address and/or a multicast address where the access network node can access, via an N3 interface, data of the multicast, broadcast service.
