    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide systems and techniques for full-duplex communication. A first system is characterized by techniques for communicating in full-duplex utilizing the Butler matrix beamformer for generating a spatial beam to be used for both uplink and downlink signaling, wherein the signaling utilizes the same time and frequency resources. A second system is characterized by techniques for communicating in full-duplex utilizing the Butler matrix beamformer to generate two spatial beams, one to be used for downlink and one to be used for uplink signaling, wherein the signaling utilizes the same time and frequency resources. Accordingly, the systems and techniques described herein are directed to low complexity, multi-user full-duplex communications.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a broadcast transmitter, a broadcast signal including one or more multi-resolution messages. The UE may decode at least one of the one or more multi-resolution messages based on receiving the broadcast signal from the broadcast transmitter, and may determine that a data rate associated with the broadcast signal is less than a threshold based on the decoding. The UE may transmit a signal querying the broadcast reception capability of a base station based on determining the data rate. In response to the query signal, the UE may receive a signal indicating a broadcast reception capability of the base station, and may communicate, with the base station, based on the broadcast reception capability of the base station.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which RF-domain wireless routers may repeat, extend, or redirect beamformed wireless signals received from one or more transmitters to one or more receivers. The router may receive transmissions at a mmW frequency using a first array of antenna elements, and provide the transmissions to a beamforming network, such as a Butler matrix, that outputs one or more a signals to a switching network. The switching network may perform switching to provide the one or more signals to desired inputs of an output beamforming network that outputs beamformed transmission beams via a second array of antenna elements.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. When operating in a high-pathloss mode, wireless devices in a network may transmit or receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a transmission time interval (TTI) for a physical shared channel (such as a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)). A wireless device may determine one or more intervals that correspond to a periodic signal that collides with portions of the TTI. Based on the identified intervals, the wireless device may communicate over the physical shared channel during the TTI. In such cases, the TTI may overlap in time with the one or more intervals to allow communication of the periodic signal during the portions of the TTI. For instance, a periodic signal may be transmitted or received during each of the one or more intervals.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless repeater beamforms a receive signal, at a first antenna array. The repeater retransmits, via a second antenna array, a beamformed signal. The repeater may adjust the receive and/or transmit beam in order to avoid signal interference caused by the retransmission. The repeater may monitor an output of a power amplifier (PA) in a signal processing chain and adjust a gain to a PA driver to the PA and/or a gain to one or more low noise amplifiers (LNAs) in the signal processing chain in order to improve or maintain transmission stability in the repeater.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for initiating beam training in systems that use beamformed wireless communications. A user equipment (UE) and a base station may establish communications using a first beam, and the UE may determine that a signal quality of the first beam is lower than a threshold value and that a beam training procedure is to be initiated. The UE may transmit a beam training request to initiate the beam training procedure, which may be transmitted as part of a bit sequence that is used to transmit uplink control information to the base station, such as with acknowledgment/negative-acknowledgment feedback, a scheduling request, or other uplink control information.

A communication device may perform a first set of beam measurements for a first plurality of beams over a wireless channel, each beam in the first plurality of beams having a first beam-width. The communication device may transmit a first beam measurement report for the first plurality of beams, the first beam measurement report indicating a beam sweep order for a second set of beam measurements for a second plurality of beams. The communication device may perform the second set of beam measurements for the second plurality of beams over the wireless channel according to the indicated beam sweep order, each beam in the second plurality of beams having a second beam-width that is narrower than the first beam-width.
