Abstract:
The present invention provides a wearable mobile device that receives hazardous condition threat messages from a hazardous condition detection system. The device includes a receiver that receives the warning transmissions generates a physical sensation to alert a user of the warning. The device further includes a display that can provide the user with helpful information relating to the warning. Priority logic prioritizes the received threat messages for display and notification based on their urgency. A user input is further included to enable the user to input control functions to the device. A transmitter allows the device to transmit signals to the hazardous condition detection system.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a system with base units (10) and smoke alarms (50). The base units are plug in base units (10) that have a plug (14, 16) that may plug into and be supported by a conventional mains power socket (18). Simple broadcast messages provide test, mute and panic alarm functionality.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a portable personal alarm device comprising: - a manually activable switch means; - a smoke and/or gas detector means; - a vibration and/or tilt detection means; - an audible and/or visible alarm indication means; - a power source; and - a control circuit where input from said switch means, said smoke and/or gas detector means are compared to predetermined relevant values and/or ranges and where said control circuit in response to input from said switch means, said smoke and/or gas detector means may activate said audible and/or visible alarm indication means by activating the corresponding means in the proper mode.
Abstract:
In a smoke warning system ambient conditions are included in the evaluation of the smoke warning transmitter statuses, or the internal signal evaluation in the smoke warning transmitter is influenced. In this procedure the alarm threshold of the system is raised under certain ambient conditions so that the smoke warning transmitter per se is set so as to be less sensitive.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of the detection, analysis andior determination of matter or particles suspended in fluid. In one particular form, the present invention relates to smoke detectors, which detect unwanted pyrolysis or combustion of material. In another form, the present Invention relates to srnoke detectors of the early detection type, and which may be applied to ventilation, air-conditioning or duct monitoring of a particular area. In yet another form, the present invention relates to surveillance monitoring, such as building, fire or security monitoring. in still another form, the present invention relates to environment monitoring, such as monitoring, detection and/or analysis of a fluid, zone, area and/or ambient environment, including commercial and Industrial environments.
Abstract:
A life safety alarm, for example a smoke alarm, that is battery powered, has an extended life, and is less prone to user mistakes. The batteries are sealed inside the alarm portion so that the batteries cannot be accessed by the user. As a result, the batteries are not replaceable. Rather, the alarm portion is replaced at the end of the alarm life, for example after expiration of a predetermined time period, such as ten years. The alarm is designed to be automatically activated upon initial attachment of the alarm portion to the bracket. The alarm can be manually deactivated, but once deactivated, the alarm cannot be reactivated and the alarm portion cannot be reattached to the bracket.
Abstract:
The invention can be used for fire alarm systems. The inventive detector consists of a main (1) and additional (12) smoke detectors comprising bases (2, 13) and electronic units (3, 14) which are arranged thereon and provided with smoke sensors (6, 15) disposed in horizontally ventilated smoke chambers (7, 16). The main detector (1) is provided with an internal status indicator (5) whose base (2) is dismountably connected to a base (8), the output contacts of the electronic unit (3) thereof are detachably connected to an alarm system loop (9) and to an external status indicator (10). The two indicators are arranged on a common vertical axis, are turned towards each other by the bases thereof and are rigidly connected to each other, for instance by a rigid bar (18). In one embodiment of the inventive alarm, the base (8) is provided with a through hole (19) whose cross-sectional dimensions are equal to or less than the cross-sectional dimensions of the bar (18) and of the additional detector (12). In the other embodiment, said additional detector is provided with a base (20). The detectors have equal cross-sectional dimensions, the bases vehicle control system thereof are connected to each other with the aid of a tubular sleeve provided with contacts on the external surface thereof. Said sleeve is coaxially arranged inside a third tubular base and detachably connected thereto. Said invention simplifies the operation conditions preserving high control fidelity.
Abstract:
A mounting kit and smoke detecting apparatus releasably mountable to a distant support surface, including a smoke detector weighing W, a support plate securable to the support surface and releasably securable to the smoke detector by a separating force of Y, and a longitudinal member having a proximate end graspable by a user and a distal end releasably securable to the smoke detector. A selectable first connector on the distal end is releasably securable to the smoke detector for mounting the smoke detector to the support plate and a selectable second connector is securable to the smoke detector for detaching the smoke detector from the support plate. The first connector is secured to the smoke detector by a separating force no greater than X and the second connector is secured to the smoke detector by a separating force no less than Z. At least one of X
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for detecting and locating fire sources or gas impurities in one or several monitoring chambers. Said device comprises a (main) detector for detecting a fire characteristic value or a gas impurity, into which a part of the ambient air in said monitoring chambers is continuously injected by means of an intake unit through a line, arranged in each monitoring chamber and provided with intake ports. Said invention also relates to a method for individually detecting fire sources or gas impurities. The aim of the invention is to provide a device and a method, which combine, in a simple and economic manner, the advantages of gas inlet systems, such as an active intake and a concealed assembly, with the advantage of the localization of each intake port as well as the detection of a precise fire source or a precise gas impurity. To this end, said device is provided with a sub-detector, arranged on or in the area of at least one intake port per monitoring chamber, for detecting a fire characteristic value or a gas impurity, said sub-detector being switched on by a switch-on signal transmitted by a controller according to a detection signal delivered by said main detector and said method may be implemented using said device.
