    Abstract: A system and method for storing data in a content-addressable system is provided. The system includes a content-addressable storage system and a persistent cache. The persistent cache includes a temporary address generator that is configured to generate a temporary address which is associated with data to be stored in the persistent cache, and a non-content-addressable storage system configured to store and retrieve data in the persistent cache using the temporary address. The persistent cache further comprises an address translator configured to map a temporary address associated with the data in the non-content addressable storage system with a content address associated with the data in the content-addressable storage system.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for conveying wireless transmission allocation information are disclosed. In accordance with one method, an index indicating selected data stream parameters is received.     Abstract: ROADM node systems and methods of operation are disclosed. ROADM node systems may include transponder aggregators including transponders to add signals for switching through the ROADM node. The transponder aggregators may be constrained from adding signals on adjacent channels for simultaneous use. Further, the transponder aggregators may include an optical coupler in lieu of an optical multiplexer. The ROADM system may include a set of wavelength selective switches associated with output ports that can provide an additional filtering function for the added signals prior to transmission on a WDM network.

    Abstract: Date is transmitted between a central office and customer premises by a wavelength division multiplex passive optical network. Two laser beams with separate wavelengths are transmitted from the central office to an optical network unit in the customer premises. Both laser beams carry downstream data. One laser beam is intensity modulated by on/off keying. The other laser beam is phase modulated by differential phase shift keying, which maintains a constant optical intensity. The first laser beam is received by a first optical receiver, which demodulates the first downstream data. The second laser beam is split in two. One laser beam is sent to a second optical receiver, which demodulates the second downstream data.     Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that performs active feature probing using data augmentation. Active feature probing is a means of actively gathering information when the existing information is inadequate for decision making. The data augmentation technique generates factitious data which complete the existing information. Using the factitious data, the system is able to estimate the reliability of classification, and determine the most informative feature to probe, then gathers the additional information. The features are sequentially probed until the system has adequate information to make the decision.
