The device of the invention includes a spectrocolorimeter (1) for analyzing the colour of the dental structure (2, 3) near the site (4) of the restoration to be effected, a dispenser (9) of given and adjustable quantities of basic components, different dyes, in paste or gel form, and a mixer (19) positioned at the outlet of the dispensor (9) for preparing a blend of at least two components. The device also includes a programmed data processing unit with the colorimetric features of each of the basic components stored in its memory, the device being connected via its inputs to the spectrocolorimeter (1) and to a manual element (6) for introducing the quantity of the required material. Said data processing unit is connected via its outputs to the dispenser (9) and the mixer (19), so as to control, after computation, the number and quantities of the components to be dispensed as well as their blending with a view to obtaining the desired quantity of material of the colour analyzed.

Abstract:
A system and method determine color of skin of a subject and produce a customized cosmetic based at least in part on the determined color of skin. A region of skin is covered with a chamber having an open area facing the skin. The skin is illuminated with light caused to enter the chamber. The light is caused to be dispersed within the chamber. A camera is used to record an image of a portion of the dispersed light in the chamber and the recorded image is processed to characterize the color of the skin. The recorded image includes a plurality of colors which are mapped to the closest color recipe. The color recipe is used to calculate actuator displacements for a portioning machine that includes a cartridge having cosmetic additives that produce the customized cosmetic.

The invention relates to a computer implemented process for matching a paint to the visual appearance properties of a painted substrate surface comprising the steps of a) selecting a potentially matching first candidate paint based on a first paint recipe comprising one or more colour and/or effect imparting toners, b) applying the first candidate paint to a test panel to obtain a first painted test panel c) visually comparing the appearance properties of the painted substrate surface and the first painted test panel under more than one viewing angle, wherein the visual comparison comprises c1) selecting a visual appearance category wherein the appearance of the painted test panel most prominently deviates from the painted substrate, wherein the categories are selected from a number of pre-defined visual appearance categories displayed on an output device of a computer, c2) inputting the selected visual appearance category in an input device of the computer, c3) visually determining the visual appearance difference of the painted test panel and the painted substrate in the selected appearance category, d) entering the determined visual appearance difference in an input device of the computer, e) optionally, entering only the types of toners of the candidate paint in an input device of the computer, f) providing a paint recipe modification advice consisting an advice of increasing or reducing one or more of the toners in the recipe, or adding an additional toner to the recipe or, on an output device of the computer, wherein the computer software provides the modification advice on the basis of i) the entered visual appearance difference and ii) a database in which only visually determined appearance properties of available toners under two or more viewing angles are stored, with the aim to minimize the appearance difference, g) preparing a second candidate paint based on the recipe modification advice, h) applying the second candidate paint to a test panel to obtain a second painted test panel, and i) repeating steps c) to h) until the visual comparison in step c) indicates that the candidate paint sufficiently matches the appearance properties of the painted substrate surface.

A system and method to detect a foreign object proximate to a source resonator that is part of a wireless energy transfer system. The wireless energy transfer system may be one used to wirelessly charge the batteries of an electric vehicle. Data from a visible light camera and a multiple zone temperature sensor are combined or fused to determine whether a foreign object, such a metallic object or an animal, is in the vicinity of, or in close proximity to, a source resonator. The system controls an electric current provided to the source resonator based on whether a foreign object is detected to reduce or inhibit energy emitted by the source resonator. The visible light camera may be a monochrome or color camera and the temperature sensor may be an infrared camera or a thermopile array.

The system can comprise one or more supply centers and one or more repair facilities.
