The present invention relates to a method for producing brush articles that involves producing a bristle support (5) made of a thermoplastic material and provided with holes for receiving the bristles (3). The bristles have their fixation ends introduced into the holes and a pressure is then applied onto the bristle support (5) at its surface comprising the holes in order to compress said bristle support (5), whereby the overall height of said support can be reduced while its mass can be displaced so as to contract the holes at the fixation ends of the bristles and so that said mass surrounds the bristles laterally. This invention also relates to a device for realising said method.

An apparatus for manufacturing toothbrushes is provided that includes a molding unit (100) for substantially simultaneously molding toothbrush bodies (12), an element that removes toothbrush bodies (12) from the molding unit (100), a tufter (200) for securing tufts of bristles to toothbrush bodies (12) to form toothbrushes, and a transport for automatically moving toothbrush bodies (12) from the removal element to the tufter (200). A process for forming toothbrushes is also disclosed.

The oral care implement may include a head having a front surface and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface. In one embodiment, the plurality of tooth cleaning elements may include three different types of tooth cleaning elements, each type of tooth cleaning element being formed of a different material. In one embodiment each of the materials has a different hardness and thus the oral care implement includes three different types of tooth cleaning elements each having a different hardness. In another embodiment, the oral care implement may include bristles and a molded cleaning element that may function as an interdental cleaner. Such a molded cleaning element may include a body and tines extending therefrom.
