A container wall of paper (10, 22) for a container with a predominantly circular or elliptic cross-section is disclosed. The paper is a highly extensible Kraft paper, preferably with an extension of 5% to 20%. The container wall ((10, 22) has at least one inwards or outwards (12, 14, 16, 26) from the periphery (20, 14, 32) extending portion. The containers produced with the container wall may be bottles, cans, jars, disposable, cups, drinking glasses, barrels, and vases. Further, a process of producing a container wall of paper (10, 22) is described. In the process highly extensible Kraft paper is pressed between a hard form providing the shape of the container wall (10, 22), and a matching hard counter form; a soft flexible counter form which under pressure follows the shape of the hard form, and liquid or gas that under pressure forces the paper to follow the shape of the hard form.

The invention relates to a coated food paperboard (1), to the manufacturing process and use of the same, and to products obtained thereof. The paperboard (1) comprises one or several fibre material layers (2), such as a three-layer structure consisting of a middle layer (4) of a mixture of sulphate pulp and CTMP and of sulphate pulp layers (5) on both sides of it, and a polymeric coating (3) getting into contact with food, either on one side or on both sides of the paperboard. According to the invention, the coating (3) consists of an outer layer (6), the melting point of the polymer used in which is at least 230 DEG C, and of an inner layer (7) placed against the fibre material layer (5); in this inner layer, a polymer with a melting point of at least 230 DEG C is blended with another adhesive polymer, the melting point of which is 130-185 DEG C. Further, the inner layer (7) may be provided with mineral substance, such as calcium carbonate. In accordance with the invention, the paperboard (1) is manufactured by coextrusion of superimposed polymeric layers (6, 7). The paperboard (1) of the invention is suitable for liquid packaging or oven board, and products manufactured of the paperboard comprise especially oven dishes and consumer packages for food, which include the disch and which may be heated as such.

A food container (10) comprising three or more plies, a first ply (22), a second ply (24), and at least a third ply (26). The first ply (22) is oriented towards the hands and face of the user and receives food in use. The first ply (22) is essentially continuous throughout its plane. The third ply (26) is oriented towards the lap of the user or a table top in use. The second ply (24) spaces the first (22) and third (26) plies apart. In a preferred embodiment, the food container (10) may be made of a corrugated material. The food container may be made from a blank which is deformed out of its plane during manufacture.
