Abstract:
A server-based call center platform that supports non-dedicated agent positions having a server connected to a switching system by a plurality of lines. The switching system includes a router which, in response to a predetermined telephone number, delivers a call to the server on a selected one of the plurality of lines and identifies the call as an agent position call. The server includes a DTMF detector that is connectable to the selected line to receive DTMF signaling from the agent position and a processor that is adapted to change the state of the agent position from its current state to a second state responsive to the DTMF signaling.
Abstract:
A digital input symbol is transmitted to a receiver by determining one or more formant frequencies that correspond to the digital input symbol. In one embodiment, a pre-programmed addressable memory is used to map the set of possible digital input symbols onto a set of corresponding speech units, each comprising a superposition of one or more formant frequencies. A signal is then generated having the speech units. The signal is supplied for transmission over a voice channel. This may include supplying the signal to a voice coder prior to transmission. In another aspect of the invention, a forward error correction code (FEC) is determined for the digital input symbol, and the one or more speech units are modified as a function of the forward error correction code. In this way, the FEC may also be transmitted with the encoded input symbol. The modification may affect any of a number of attributes of the speech units, including a volume attribute and a pitch attribute.
Abstract:
A call re-directing system associated with a call center (1010) integrates an interface on a computer station (1021) at an agent station (1020) having a telephone (1022), a CTI-application executing on a processor (1012) connected to a telephony switch (1011), and a DSP-controller to operate with Transfer Connect protocols for re-directing misrouted telephone calls. In a preferred embodiment, data associated with a call is transferred to the new destination of a re-routed call and re-associated with the call.
