Abstract:
A spa apparatus and method for cleaning the same are disclosed. The spa apparatus includes a basin for retaining fluid, a removable foot rest plate positioned within the basin, an impeller coupled to the basin, and a motor drivably coupled to the impeller.
Abstract:
A portable foot bath has a reservoir for holding a volume of liquid. The reservoir has a floor. The foot bath also has a jet connected to a pump. A first outlet is in a first location of the floor and a second outlet is in a second location of the floor that is a location different than the first location. The jet circulates the liquid in the reservoir. The liquid goes through the first outlet and the second outlet to create a first whirling flow pattern and a second whirling flow pattern, respectively, from the liquid in the reservoir.
Abstract:
There is an apparatus for promoting or assisting the healing of an injured area (26) of human anatomy by alternative applications of a fluid at differing temperatures. The apparatus includes a spray applicator (23) and a reservoir (1) for the fluid with a pressure pump (14) and fluid heater (11). The apparatus in use is arranged such that the spray applicator (23) is connected to the pressure pump (14) whereby timed sprays of the fluid from the reservoir I at a selected temperature can be applied to the injured area (26) to increase blood circulation.
Abstract:
A device and method for the surgical removal of tissue from a mammalian body, specifically arteriosclerotic plaques from human beings, including a photo-degradatory endoscope (10) having a tip end (12) and a tubular body (24) connected to a power source, a light source, controls, and a viewer, which are remote from the tip end, the tubular body (24) comprising a light-transmissive material such that catalyst-activating wavelengths emitted from the light source are transmitted to the tip end (12) and through a tip into the body; and a photocatalyst (28) for tissue degradation that is presented proximal the tip end for making a reaction with catalyst-activating wavelengths transmitted from the light source through the tubular body (24), through the tip, and into the body.
Abstract:
A lighting system suitable for chromatherapy includes a plurality of light fixtures mounted through walls of a tub basin to project different color light into the water in the tub. The light fixtures are operated by a central control unit and each includes a housing having a concave internal surface. An array of light emitting diodes that project different color light is mounted under a cap covering one end of the housing. A lens is threaded onto the opposite end of the housing from within the tub basin to secure the light fixture to the tub. The concave surface has the different color light projected on it, and reflects light out the light fixture in mixed fashion.
Abstract:
The invention proposes a novel type of injector element for the injection of fluida in whirlpools and hydromassage baths, inclusive the provision of a hydromassage injector system and of a whirlpool or bath tub equipped with such an injector resp. injector system. Essential to the invention is a tubular injector element with a plurality of jet openings disposed along the length direction of the injector tube. By connecting both end portions of the injector with a fluidum supply duct, in casu a feed of water in admixture with pressure air (or aspired ir via venturi), it becomes possible to realise a most beneficial hydromassage jet pattern over the injector length. The drecreasing flow-out intensity of the fluidum from the successive jet openings and further the inversion of sait jet pattern by alternatively opening and closing the fluidum supply channels connected with the both end portions of the injector tube is very effective for the hydromassage of certain body parts, like e.g. the lower limbs. The hydromassage alternating from relatively hard towards soft jets and vice versa may have a stimulating effect in medical hydrotherapeutic treatments, more in particular in lymph drainage.
Abstract:
The subject invention pertains to a method and device for irrigation of a wound, said device comprising a reservoir housing containing a wound irrigation solution and a discharge means attachable thereto, said discharge means having at least one port therethrough wherein said port, or ports forms a nozzle for directing a pressurized dispersed stream of said solution.
Abstract:
A control device (2) for sauna installations, steam bath installations or other installations in humid areas has inputting means for inputting control commands for controlling the operating parameters of the installation, for example, the temperature of the area inside a sauna or a steam bath. The control device (2) also has control means (8) for adjusting the operating parameters according to the control commands that are inputted by a user. According to the invention, the inputting means are at least partially configured in the form of a touchscreen (4), which renders the operation of the inventive control device considerably more simple and more comfortable. A particular advantage of the inventive control device is that a touchscreen is less sensitive to the effects of humidity than a keyboard or a switch, for example.
Abstract:
Spa nozzles (11) having dual fluidic nozzles capable of submerged operation and of selectively providing straight, concentrated, non-oscillating jets with air entrainment (18) or an oscillating jet of slugs of water in water to provide a soothing massaging effect with no moving parts.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method which is characterized in that a liquid to be heated is taken from a storage container (6) received by a transportable installation via a first flexible tube coupling and a conveyor pump (8). Said liquid is heated up as desired on its way from the storage container via an inner supply line and a flexible tube coupling in an outer flexible system tube up to a point just before the treatment/shower head. Once the liquid/air mixture has contacted the skin, it is sucked off by a suction pump from the treatment/shower head (20) via a second flexible connection in the flexible system tube, a second flexible tube coupling, a liquid separator (10), in which liquid and air are separated from each other, and via a third flexible tube coupling. The liquid is collected, the air is transferred to the ambient atmosphere and the collected liquid is removed from the liquid separator via a disposal pump (15) and a flexible disposal tube. The invention is further characterized in that a thermal disinfection of the system of the installation is carried out at predetermined intervals, once the supply of liquid is completed, with respect to the circuit comprising the conveyor pump, heating, inner supply line, heated and unheated flexible connection in the flexible system tube, and optionally the treatment/shower head and first and second flexible tube coupling.
