Abstract:
An arrangement for the capture of a broken sawchain (16) of a chainsaw (10) comprising a stationary shield (32) that covers a rear section of the saw. The shield (32) has an end surface (42) that extends between an outer surface and an inner surface of the shield (32) and has such hardness and is designed with a convex curvature of such a radius that one part of the broken sawchain (16) that comes to an external location during operation of the saw (10) can slide around the end surface (42) in an essentially unhindered manner in a direction towards the inner surface.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an anti-recoil and retaining tool for a chain saw, consisting of at least a slider (5) supported on the chain (8) guide (1) and comprising in the front part a dog point (6) designed to be pressed on the surface of the piece to be worked on. Said tool is capable of being combined with an adaptable accessory such as a slotting, grooving, or edging guide.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a jaw device (20) for holding logs (3) to be chainsawed. The device has a mouth formed from a toothed upper jaw (23) and an opposed toothed lower jaw (25). The mouth is supported (21, 22) above a pair of feet (28, 29). The log (3) can be progressively sawed from its free end (45) towards the end held in the mouth. The spacing between the jaws in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the log (3) ensures that the log is securely held and that the last cut frees the held in end (49) of the log (3) from the device.
Abstract:
A protecting member or strip for protecting a cutting edge of a tool and having magnetic elements for releasably retaining the protecting member in position in relation to the tool, so as to protect the cutting edge, and a method for making the protecting member by extruding or coextruding a body part and a magnetic part and bonding the parts together.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cutter guard (13, 14) in clearing assemblies (1) provided with a cutter (3) mounted on a shaft (6) and rotatable by means of a motor (11), said shaft (6) being carried in a body (8), the guard comprising a hub section (13) provided in association with the cutter (3) and essentially coaxial with the shaft (6), the hub section (13) having a diameter which is less than the diameter of the rotatable cutter (3) and carrying a plurality of fixed arms (14) which extend outwards beyond the periphery of the cutter (3). The hub section (13) is arranged freely rotatable in relation to the body (8) and those parts of the arms (14) extending beyond the outermost periphery of the cutter (3) are provided with a surface facing in a direction opposite the rotational direction of the cutter (3) and extending up above the plane of the top surface of the cutter as well as to or below the plane of the bottom surface of the cutter (3), said arm surface having a radial extension arranged such that all tangents which can be drawn from the outermost periphery of the cutter between adjacent arms will cut that of the surfaces which is located on that of the two arms which lies rearmost, as viewed in the rotational direction of the cutter, the arms furthermore being formed such that radial movement along the surface of a particle or the like leaving the periphery of the cutter (3) tangentially and hitting the surface will be opposed.
Abstract:
A device for braking the saw chain (3) of a portable power saw (1). The power saw has a front handle (5) to be gripped by one hand (6) of the saw operator, and a rear handle (7) to be gripped by the operator's other hand (8). The device includes a brake means (11) capable of braking the saw chain (3) by means of an actuating member (12). This may have the shape of an L-shaped tube (12) which is connected to a kickback guard (9) on the power saw, and which can be operated by the operator's rear hand as a result of a coercion wrenching movement of the rear hand (8) if any kickback of the power saw will occur.
