Abstract:
A pivoting and locking means for the frame tubes of a foldable bicycle comprises a front frame tube and a rear frame tube, wherein a front locking sleeve and a rear locking sleeve are joined on said front and rear frame tubes respectively by means of screws, a front connecting arm and a rear connecting arm are fixed on said front and rear locking sleeves respectively and are pivotally joined together by a hinged shaft, a locking plate is fixed on the rear end of said front frame tube and a mounting plate is fixed on the front end of said rear locking sleeve, an elongated hole is provided in said locking plate and a T-shaped locking member is fixed on said mounting plate, which extends along the axial direction of said rear frame tube and can be inserted into said hole. When the front frame tube and the rear frame tube are pivotally joined around the hinged shaft, they can be locked or released by the rotation of said T-shaped locking member in said hole, which is caused by the rotation of the front and rear connecting arms around the axis of the frame tube.
Abstract:
The connections between portions of bicycle frames or forks, comprised of tubes, particularly the connections to the steering tube (9), to the crank gear bearing (10) and to be saddle tube (11), comprise at least one first tube (1) connected by its preformed end (6') to the periphery of a second tube (2) by means of an extruded material (12). The end of the first tube is enlarged and adapted to the periphery of the second tube, while the extruded material is plastic material. Furthermore, the ends may be adhered, respectively, to the periphery of other tubes. In addition to the tubes forming the frame itself, the rear portion of the bicycle may also be connected, by its ends, to the crank gear bearing (10) and to the saddle tube (11) by means of the extruded plastic material.
