An apparatus, electronic device, method and computer program wherein the apparatus comprises: processing circuitry; and memory circuitry including computer program code, the memory circuitry and the computer program code configured to, with the processing circuitry, enable the apparatus to: detect an audio module connected to the apparatus wherein the audio module comprises a user replaceable module;determine one or more parameters of the audio module; and enable the processing of the signals used for the audio module in accordance with the determined one or more parameters.
Abstract:
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure utilize two distinctly different radiation devices aimed in the same direction to create a derived acoustic radiation pattern. The radiation devices may be distinctly different in terms of the acoustic radiation pattern each radiation device generates individually. The derived acoustic radiation pattern is unique to the individual acoustic radiation patterns of either of the two radiation devices. Manipulation of several key design variables allows a multitude of unique patterns to be derived in this way using only the two radiation devices. In turn, this allows for engineering an acoustic radiation pattern to match the unique geometry of a room.

A loudspeaker assembly includes L loudspeakers, each being substantially the same size and having a peripheral front surface, and an enclosure having a hollow cylindrical body and end closures, the cylindrical body and end closures being made of material that is impervious to air. The cylindrical body comprises L openings therein. The L openings are sized and shaped to correspond with the peripheral front surfaces of the L loudspeakers, and have central axes. The central axes of the L openings are contained in a radial plane, and the angles between adjacent axes are identical. The L loudspeakers are disposed in the L openings and hermetically secured to the cylindrical body. L is equal to or greater than 2. A higher-order loudspeaker system comprising such a loudspeaker assembly and a beamforming module.

Apparatus, systems and methods for reducing feedback in a hearing aid that includes a transducer configured to detect sound, a sound processor configured to process signals from the transducer, a receiver configured to receive signals outputted from the sound processor, and an acoustic feedback reduction system. The acoustic feedback reduction system is configured to provide signals to the sound processor to produce a null targeting signal steerable toward a source of feedback. Securing mechanisms for space access devices, such as an audio signal transmitting device, include a plurality of outwardly projecting members that are configured to transition from a relaxed state to a securing state when the space access device is inserted into an internal space or opening that has an inside diameter smaller than an outside diameter of the outwardly projecting members in the relaxed state. The outwardly projecting members securely engage a surface of the internals space, conform to the shape and size of the internal space, and modulate at least one of the attenuation and frequency of audio signals and/or differentially acoustically impede audio signals transmitted through the securing mechanism and/or internal space and the space access device, without fully occluding the internal space.

In certain aspects, the acoustic transducer includes a curved diaphragm and an actuator coupled to the curved diaphragm to cause movement of the curved diaphragm. In certain embodiments, the curved diaphragm has at least one free edge. In other embodiments, the left and right edges of the curved diaphragm are associated with auxiliary supports. In another embodiment, the acoustic transducer is a multi-pole loudspeaker wherein a curved diaphragm radiates the sound energy in a modified dipole pattern. The curvature of the radiating surface of the transducer reduces sound cancellation from sound energy reflected by nearby surfaces
