Abstract:
A smoke or mist generator that generates smoke or mist in an efficient and controlled manner by leading and supplying a special fluid via a porous substance to a region with controlled heating contained within a container with a tested design of outlet nozzle or pressure-controlled outlet valve. The porous substance can, furthermore, be used as an insulator between resistance wire and the outer casing. A fine distribution of the fluid results from leading it through a porous substance to the heating zone, which gives an efficient smoke or mist generation.
Abstract:
A flexible smoke generator comprising smoke composition particles embedded in an elastomer, preferably a silicone rubber compound that is molded or extruded into a relatively thin layer. The smoke generator may further comprise flexible circuitry to provide a currency alarm pack having the flexibility and feel of a standard currency pack without an alarm. The smoke composition particles may contain a red dye and/or tear gas. The smoke composition particles have a preferred particle size range small enough to pass through a number (18) sieve and large enough not to pass through a number (40) sieve. The smoke generator may be provided with a film covering, such as polyurethane, which may provide sealing capability for sealing the smoke composition particles and/or tear gas within the elastomer. The smoke generator may contain embedded reinforcing fibers for additional strength.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a security marker comprising a nucleic acid molecule, said nucleic acid molecule comprising: (i) a first primer region substantially identical to a first primer; and linked to the first primer region, (ii) a marker region comprising a predetermined nucleic acid sequence capable of identifying the source of the security marker; and (iii) a region which is substantially the reverse complement of a second primer and capable of being bound by this primer. Methods of using such security markers and security kits containing the markers are enclosed.
Abstract:
A security device for use with a framed hinged door (5), has a restraint means (8) operable from a dormant position to an active position, from where it restrains the opening of the door (5). The restraint means (8) can comprise a steel plate bent at one end to form a door retaining tab (9). The device can additionally comprise intruder deterrent and/or identification systems, actuable by means of a pressure sensor incorporated into the restraint means (8). The deterrent and/or identification systems can include audible and/or visual alarms, dye-release mechanisms and visual image retention means.
Abstract:
An anti-theft system (21) adapted to detect attempted theft from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) (20) and to deface currency (46) housed within currency cassettes (44) in response to such attempt. The anti-theft system comprises at least one theft-detection sensor (41A, 41B) capable of activating a trigger signal (149), a source of pressurized gas (125) releasable in response to the trigger signal, and a reservoir (100) containing currency-defacing liquid (103) and connected to the pressurized gas source (123). The reservoir is adapted to release the liquid into a first liquid distribution system (148) upon the reservoir reaching a set pressure. A spray manifold (54) located within the currency cassette and connected to a second liquid distribution system (55) is adapted to forcibly discharge and distribute the liquid upon the currency. The first and second liquid distribution systems are coupled with a coupling device, which may be an automatic coupling device (170) adapted to connect the liquid distribution systems to one another automatically. Methods for preventing ATM theft and for retrofitting a pre-existing ATM with the system disclosed herein, as well as an ATM comprising such an anti-theft system, are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for marking persons, which can also be used in large limiting devices. The inventive device involves little production, installation and maintenance expenditures while ensuring permanent functionability and high probability of identifying the persons passing by in case the limiting device is surmounted. A support (7; 7') for at least one identification means container (2) that can be destroyed by contact elements (5, 5') as the result of a contact force exerted on a hand-actuated auxiliary switch (4, 4') by a passing person and for at least one solvent container (3) that can be destroyed simultaneously or almost simultaneously by the contact elements (5, 5') is arranged on a limiting device in a security area. Production of the device, which is easy to assemble, involves little expenditures. Maintenance is limited to controls that are carried out over long intervals due to the fact that the device preserves the necessary requirements and is in constant operation and can only be activated by persons passing by at the corresponding points. Marking of persons by obligatory contact with colored or odoriferous marking identification means.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a smoke generator, in particular to be used as a deterrent against attempts at intrusion into a building, comprising a case (100) housing at least a smoke generating source (200) and a control device (300) to be coupled with a sensor to initiate the smoke generating source (200) when an attempt at intrusion is detected. The invention is characterised in that it further comprises a buffer chamber (150) between the smoke generating source (200) outlet and the external diffusing grid (122) provided on the case(100).
Abstract:
A burglary protection that strikes back and actively prevents merchandise from being stolen. This operates so that if a burglary is indicated in for example a shop, within a few seconds, an opaque grayish white smoke spreads out and fills parts or the whole room within about 10 seconds. There is no possibility of scattering the smoke and the smoke expansion can continue for 10 minutes or more. At an embodiment, smoke producers are used, which contain a compressed gas and the smoke liquid which is normally at the same temperature as the surroundings. The smoke liquid is heated directly and quickly to vapour by electronic heating at high effect and spread via nozzles.
Abstract:
A robbery deterrent apparatus (10) and method is provided for convenience stores or other businesses vulnerable to armed robbery, in which a would-be armed robber is incapacitated by an aerosol agent (16) that is delivered in a predetermined pattern within the store. In a preferred embodiment, the aerosol incapacitating agent (16) is delivered immediately upon the detection of a firearm discharge (66), or after a short delay in response to am employee activated trigger (30). The aerosol incapacitating agent (16) may be accompanied by a marking agent, such as ultraviolet dye, to assist authorities in capturing and identifying the would-be armed robber in the event he or she is able to escape the store after the robbery attempt.
Abstract:
A surveillance method comprises launching, by a mobile target in a scenery, a drone equipped with a camera, establishing a wireless tracking link between the drone and the mobile target or a component carried by it, tracking the mobile target in the scenery by the drone in accordance with information obtained from the tracking link, taking one or more images of the scenery by the drones camera and generating corresponding image data, and wireless transmission of the image data of the one or more images from the drone to at least one first predetermined destination.
