    Abstract: One aspect provides a method performed by a radio access network node in a telecommunications network. The method comprises: responsive to detection of a trigger event associated with a wireless device having a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node or seeking to establish a connection to the telecommunications network via the radio access network node, transmitting a message directly to a user plane core network node providing functionality for the connection via the radio access network node, the message comprising one or more of: an indication of an identifier of the wireless device; and an indication of an identifier of a session for the wireless device. The user plane core network node has access to a data storage layer shared between a plurality of user plane core network nodes, the data storage layer storing respective contexts for the sessions of a plurality of wireless devices, including the wireless device.

    Abstract: Embodiments include methods for a user equipment (UE) operating in a radio access network (RAN) coupled to a core network (CN). Such methods include receiving, from the RAN or the CN, one or more frequency selection policy parameters (P) related to a protocol data unit (PDU) 5 session for the UE and/or a network slice associated with a PDU session for the UE. Such methods also include, based on the frequency selection policy parameters, determining one or more preferred frequencies or frequency layers for one or more mobility operations. Such methods also include performing a first one of the mobility operations on a first one of the determined preferred frequencies or frequency layers. Other embodiments include complementary methods for a 0 wireless network, and UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods. Figure 6 is selected for publication.

    Abstract: A wireless device performs a method for resuming a Radio Resource Control, RRC, connection. While in a power saving state, the wireless device monitors a paging 5channel. When the wireless device receives a paging message on the paging channel, it determines whether the paging channel includes a message enabling the wireless device to resume the RRC connection. If the paging channel includes a message enabling the wireless device to resume the RRC connection, the wireless device performs actions determined by said message.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for handling a wireless device in a Configuration Management (CM)-Connected state with Radio Resource Control (RRC) Inactive state are provided. In some embodiments, a method for performing a mobility transfer from a Fifth Generation (5G) network to an Evolved Packet System (EPS) network includes a 5G network node: receiving, from an EPS network node, a context request for context associated with a User Equipment (UE); determining data forwarding information associated with the UE; and sending, to the EPS network node, a context response comprising context information associated with the UE and data forwarding information associated with the UE. In this way, packet losses will be minimized leading to improved end user performance.

    Abstract: A method performed by a first radio network node, such as a relay node also denoted as IAB node, for handling communication in a wireless communications network is provided. The wireless communications network comprises the first radio network node relaying data packets between a network node and a wireless device. The first radio network node decides (1702) upon a failure of a first recovery procedure of a connection or upon loss of the connection at the first radio network node, to trigger an initiation of a second recovery procedure of a second connection at a second radio network node and/or the wireless device.     Abstract: A wireless device (16) is configured to operate in first and second access networks (12A, 12B).     Abstract: Systems and methods for connection reestablishment in a cellular communications system that utilizes Centralized Unit (CU) / Distributed Unit (DU) split are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a shared distributed unit for connection reestablishment for a User Equipment (UE) is disclosed. The shared distributed unit comprises distributed units of first and second target base stations associated with first and second Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs) or first and second network slices, respectively, wherein the first and second target base stations share resources. The method comprises receiving a connection reestablishment request comprising an identity of the UE in a source cell and an identity of the source cell and sending an message to a central unit of the first target base station comprising the identities of the UE and the source cell, and information regarding a cell served by the second target base station using the shared resources.
