Abstract:
The invention relates to an actuation device for pedal operation of mechanical, pressure actuated, or electric devices having a two-dimensional actuation element (70) which can be adjusted in a plurality of directions from a starting position into an actuation position in which the actuation element operates a switch element (50, 52).

Abstract:
A patient-support apparatus (20) includes a base (22), and a patient-support assembly (32) supported above the base (22). The patient-support assembly (32) includes a patient-support deck (84) having longitudinally spaced-apart ends (86, 88) and an elevation mechanism (90) for moving one of the ends (86, 88) of the patient-support deck (84) relative to the other of the ends (88, 86) and relative to the base (22). The elevation mechanism (90) includes a transversely extending threaded shaft (92), a pair of blocks (94) threadedly coupled to the shaft (92), and a linkage (96) coupled to the pair of blocks (94) and extending upwardly therefrom to support the end (86, 88) of the patient support deck (84). The pair of blocks (94) move transversely in response to rotation of the threaded shaft (92). The linkage (96) is configured to move the end (86, 88) of the patient-support deck (84) relative to the base (22) in response to transverse movement of the blocks (94).
Abstract:
Abstract:
Methods and systems for determining and maintaining a center of rotation are provided. A center of rotation may be determined based on first information about a robotic region of interest of a robot and second information about a patient region of interest. An operating table having multiple degrees of freedom may be caused to rotate about the center of rotation from a first position to a second position. A control system may be caused to control the robot based on the operating table being in the second position.
Abstract:
A frame positioning device comprises a base assembly, an elevation and rotation assembly coupled to the base assembly, and a table assembly coupled to the elevation and rotation assembly. The table assembly comprises a table support and pivot subassembly, a first table section subassembly, and a second table section subassembly. The table support and pivot subassembly is coupled to the first table section subassembly via a first pivot point. The table support and pivot subassembly is coupled to the second table section subassembly via a second pivot point.
Abstract:
A surgical frame and method for use thereof is provided. The surgical frame is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame includes a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The surgical frame also includes a reconfigurable upper leg support for supporting portions of the upper legs, the hips, and the lower back of the patient to facilitate positioning and repositioning there during surgery. The upper leg support via reconfiguration thereof can accommodate patients of different sizes, can provide flexure of the patient's lumbar spine to facilitate surgical access thereto, and can prevent unwanted torsion of a patient's spine during such reconfiguration.
Abstract:
A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, or the like, includes an exit detection system and/or a monitoring system that monitors a set of conditions of the patient support apparatus. A user interface of the exit detection system includes a first navigation control for navigating to a control screen for the exit detection system and a second navigation control for navigating to a control screen for the monitoring system. Each navigation control also functions as an automatic arming control, thereby causing the respective exit detection system and monitoring system to be armed. In this manner, a single touch of a navigation control implements the dual function of automatically arming the corresponding system and taking the user to a control screen for the corresponding system. The automatically armed system is armed using one or more preset settings or one or more settings customized to a particular patient.
Abstract:
The invention relates, in particular, to features of an apparatus applicable for use in the context of dental or medical CT imaging. The apparatus comprises a two longitudinally extending frame parts 11, 21, a support construction 12 for an X-ray source 14 and an image detector 15 and a first driving mechanism 16 arranged to move them about a rotation axis 13. A patient support 18 comprising a patient support surface 184 is mechanically connected to the first of the substantially longitudinally extending frame parts 11, which extends substantially in parallel with the first longitudinally extending frame part 11 and having at, or at the proximity of its two edges 181 which extend in the same direction as the first longitudinally extending frame part 11 i) at least one support element 183 or ii) at least one connecting construction 182 for at least one support element 83, the support element 183 being an accessory designed for a patient to hold on or help the patient to be still during an imaging exposure, or to help keeping a patient be still.
